Maria,
Good advice, thank you so much! You have made me feel a lot better about this.
All the best to you,

I'm back from the realm of the incommunicado!

Thank you, Jen, Doug, Ava, and Maria! I appear to have some PL'ing ahead of me. :P

I am going to try and break this mountain down into small chunks this weekend, so that I can have ch.6 of the recording finished and to you, this coming week.
Thank you for ALL of your patience with this.
(any advice is appreciated)

What Maria said. 8-) Also, I suggest taking whatever breaks (the "chunks") at natural breaks in the text - a heading, etc. That way if there's a difference in sound, it is at least at a logical change point. :)

Section 0:

Perfectly fine to say "Dedication and Preface" rather than "Section 0". I probably would have requested that had I thought of it.

20:53 - "from the Deepwater" blip in the recording

21:04 - another blip; I didn't catch the wording since I was cooking at the time.

Sending a PM to ya...

Here's the last of my sections --
Section 25 -- (Chapter 8, Changing Business as Usual, Part 3) -- (length 32:02)

This has been such an interesting project! Thank you for launching it, Tricia! Reading this report, I've learned and understood things that I'd never really grasped before about a subject that I'd always assumed would be scientifically over my head. LibriVox is certainly educational in more ways than I'd expected!

All fixes fixed, thanks for catching them! I will have to be more careful when to record with my oldie here...

The file is now 25:44 long and almost done reuploading.
Cheers, Ava.

Here's Section 19 (it's 34:09 minutes long): https://librivox.org/uploads/triciag/finalreport_19_deepwatercommission_128kb.mp3

I did not know what to do with the ID tags so I left them blank. I didn't see instructions on that in the initial post on this thread. I can always resubmit if I need to complete the tags.

Thanks,
Pamela

Thanks, Pamela!

ID tags are not required on this project. That's why I removed the instructions. :)

Section 19 needs amplification - by 8 dB, if you would, please. :) That's the only edit needed.

No wonder I had a hard time hearing it while working on supper!

I notice your test recording never got a final OK. Did you try noise removal? If so, did you select ONLY a part where you weren't speaking to define the Noise Profile? If you selected voice, it'd define your voice as noise and reduce that as well as room noise. If you did that, I can see why this recording is 8 dB too low, since you were recommended to do 8 dB of reduction. :)

Well, that is an easy fix! Revised (amplified) file is at
https://librivox.org/uploads/triciag/finalreport_19_deepwatercommission_128kb.mp3. This was my first project and I am looking forward to doing more!
