Do you want me to do an american accent for the speech or read it all completely in the same voice?

I just searched in the catalogue and it seems there's already a Helping Himself book recorded.

Obviously it doesn't matter but what reason is there for doing two? :)
Gee No. I did a search before setting up this project and seriously thought this book had not been recorded by LibriVox. If there is another version (and there probably is since you found one!) that does not really affect anything; we have many duplicate recordings in our catalog. Thanks for checking :D

Well, well, well. .... I am so happy that the famous "Just call me Ed" is joining this great book. Your reputation precedes you Just kidding; I really am happy to have you in LibriVox and here and of course you may read those chapters. Manuel the LibriVox Bannana welcomes you too. Image
Please ask if you have any questions.

Mysterious rumors and dancing bananas? Wait, is this the Horatio Alger thread, or Phillip Dick?

I ain't talkin'. My lips are sealed. Mum's the word. Image

(Ed. This is indeed the Horatio Alger project, not Phillip Dick. Please excuse all the smilies.. Sometimes my enthusiasm and sense of humor get a bit obstreperous. But you are really welcome here to read as many chapters as you wish.)

Chapter 7

https://librivox.org/uploads/philchenevert/helpinghimself_07_alger.mp3 8:22

I have actually read my "dog eared ebook" of Horatio Alger stories about 3 times. Might be a pathetic confession. May I keep rolling with the next 6 in line after Mike's, chapters 13-18? They're all of a piece regarding the plot and accusation.

Of course you may Ed. I confess to loving Horatio Alger stories as a boy too. :D

Mike
Thank you Mike
EDIT: Mike, note that you put a comma instead of a period after alger. I think this will be fixed later, but just for your info for the next one.
