Hi, I'm brand new to LibriVox, but I would like to try my hand as a PL (Mandarin) for this project. Is a good place to start to "claim" one poem (say 293)? Thanks!

Hello Yingzhu, and welcome to LibriVox!

I would very much appreciate your help proof-listening the remaining files. Perhaps when you've listened to one or two, post your comments here and I'll have a look just to check you haven't missed anything.

谢谢! :D

Hi David, I proof-listened to #293, A Confession. Since it is my first PL, I have put down all my notes below (might be too nitpicky).

-- Do the intro and disclaimer match the instructions in the first post of the project thread?
Yes, except the intro is read as "LibriVox dot org" instead of "LibriVox 点 org."

-- Are there any long silences or pauses that ought to be edited out? If so, note the time.
No.

-- Are there any repeats, or serious stumbles that ought to be edited out? If so, note the words and the time.
None.

-- Is there excessive background noise, a constant hiss or buzz that detracts from the reading?
No. Just slight puffs at 0:06, 0:09 and 0:16, but they do not detract.

-- Did you need to turn your volume up unusually high to listen to the recording? (Or did you find the recording too loud?)
No. Perfect.

-- Are the correct closing words used at the end of the recording, as per the first post of the project thread?
Yes.

-- Are there 2 seconds of silence at the end of the file?
Yes.

Overall, I would say "PL OK!" if "LibriVox dot org" is fine in the intro.

I also tried looking for ID3 tags, but could not find them in iTunes > Get Info. Am I missing something?

Bart -

The Wikipedia link for the book is to a totally different work of literature.

Also, the catalog link on the Archive page takes you to the forum thread. :)
School fiction: David Blaize
America Exploration: The First Four Voyages of Amerigo Vespucci
Serial novel: The Wandering Jew
Medieval England meets Civil War Americans: Centuries Apart
