All checked; just a little tweaking of ID3 tags done, but the recordings are fine, and contrast well with each other. It's an interesting collection.
marlodianne, LavenderJane, Headphone: are you happy for your URLs to be mentioned in the credits?
Guntar: your url seems to have been highjacked by another site - as soon as gunter.liverjournal.com comes up, what looks like a commercial site with lots of links comes in, complete with advertising popups.

1:59, 1.8 mb (small enough I figured I could just stick it on my site for a little while)
*finally* got around to it! (Oh, and Tazz Cat has had Librivox explained to him, and had no objection to his voice being used in a public domain project.)

Where does one go to join in the discussion of weekly poem possibilities?

Dennis,
There isn't a very formal process at this point. Usually somehow just speaks up if they want to coordinate the next week's poem and it's first come first serve. I believe Gesine is doing next week's poem but you're welcome to coordinate the week after that if you'd like. If this becomes something that a lot of people are wanting to do, we can start a sort of queue. I've been meaning to write a "how to coordinate a weekly poem" guide... I guess it's about time I stop putting that off, eh?

Okay, check out the brand new planning thread here: http://librivox.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1114
I've also updated the main sticky with detailed guidelines for how to coordinate a poem here: http://librivox.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=283
So head on over there and sign up to coordinate or make a suggestion!

A little nonsense.
Very fun!

I don't like this new convention. It seems to me that the Title ought to be the title of the piece, no more and no less.LibraryLady wrote:Here is mine:

I went ahead and added my initials to the Title ID3 tag since it seems like a convention we probably ought to adopt.
There's a place in the Comment tag for us to add "Recorded by {your name}" or even just your initials if you wish.
The initials are already encoded in the filename. It just seems to be additional information that is unnecessary (and it screws up the title, which shows up in most mp3 players).
My $0.04.

We are trying to avoid this situation:
http://www.archive.org/details/where_my_books_go_librivox
as opposed to this:
http://www.archive.org/details/nightbeforechristmas_librivox
When there is no difference between titles it looks odd. With initials in the title tag, there is some way to tell one from another.
It's actually our original convention, which was forgotton for the last few poems :)

Hi Kara. I disagree that it looks odd.kayray wrote:We are trying to avoid this situation:

The problem is not that the tag is wrong, it's that the title of the column is "Audio Files" (which seems to imply file name) but in fact it shows the "title" tag.
In any case, the links point to different filenames which all *should* have the same title. The title of the piece should not change because a different person recorded it.
This may seem picayune, but it seems to me that the original bug (the wrong information is displayed in the first column if there is an intent to make them unique) should not be worked around by messing with the title of the literature piece.
Best regards,

My bad: it wasn't hijacked?I just typed it in wrong. It's fixed now (it's supposed to be livejournal, not liverjournal).Peter Why wrote: Guntar: your url seems to have been highjacked by another site - as soon as gunter.liverjournal.com comes up, what looks like a commercial site with lots of links comes in, complete with advertising popups.

All downloaded and checked, with tags adjusted, to this point (17 readings).
Thanks for sorting out the url, Guntar.
Do we have a decision on adding initials to the Title? In fact, when I've encountered this, I've been converting it to "(Reader xx)" because I felt that a couple of letters added to the title would be rather cryptic for listeners. I'm ready to change them to whatever's decided, of course.

You guys are in charge, I'm happy to do whatever you all decide.Peter Why wrote:Do we have a decision on adding initials to the Title? Is there a way to fix the Archive.org tables to put the filename in that first column? That way, the tags in the mp3/ogg files don't have to be munged.
