American Myths and Legends, Volume 1, by Charles M. Skinner (1852 - 1907)

This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/american-myths-and-legends-volume-1-by-charles-m-skinner/
American Myths and Legends is another collection of folklore from author Charles M. Skinner, whose exhaustive and expansive work in the field popularized many of these stories in the public imagination. It is intended as a follow-up work to his multivolume magnum opus, Myths and Legends of Our Own Land. This is the first of two volumes.

Mightyfelix has agreed to be our MC and DPL. Of course, I'm also willing to help out and proof-read half of the files, if this becomes too daunting.

Also going to politely nudge folks in the direction of Skinner's first collection, Myths of Our Own Land, which I would have probably launched instead of this if I had more time (it's... quite large).
