Our Atomic World: The Story of Atomic Energy, by C. Jackson Craven (1908 - 1988)

Volunteers outside the USA: C. Jackson Craven died in 1988. His/Her work is still protected by copyright in places, like Europe, where copyright is author's death plus 70 years, Australia (author's death plus 70 years for authors who died after 1954) or Canada (author's death plus 50 years).

This booklet is part of the "Understanding the Atom Series" published by the Division of Technical Information of the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission. From an introduction of atomic theory by the ancient Greeks through the development of the fission bomb, the author covers such areas as the discovery of the nucleus, the discovery of isotopes, fission and fusion including a chronology of atomic theory to 1963, and the development of the Atomic Energy Commission. I will PL this project

This is another government booklet, similar to the one we're wrapping up on lasers.
Each section will have additional reading instructions about reading captions and diagrams.

Personal tidbit, this is my forum post 19,000 and BC project 200 or maybe 201. I won't give a DPL number because it's too scary. It has been a fun journey so far! :D

FYI, the author died in 1988, so this is only PD in the USA.
