Heard :"...even those who most prided themselves"
S/b: "...SINCE even those who most prided themselves"
"since" was omitted. But, the sense of the passage is not distorted, so dont bother with doing anything about it unless your OCD demands it!
There was an opportunity to pronounce Greek text... AND YOU DID IT! yaaay! Good job.
I think this is one of his best quotes so far:
I compared the relationship of metaphysics to philosophy with that of astrology to astronomy.

I'm going to challenge my OCD (actually, I lay the blame/credit on my Myers-Briggs "J" quality ) and let the missing "since" go, as is.
And the Greek is proof that no education is ever really useless.....

When I was a young man I wanted to learn Latin and Greek like John Stuart Mill - very ambitious, eh! Well I took Latin in high school and then when I went to college (Purdue) I decided to teach myself Greek. I studied and studied and studied until one day I tried to read some Plato in the original Greek. I was totally lost. Half the words made no sense at all. I found an Eastern Orthodox priest and asked him about this. His advice was "There are two main historical strains of the Greek language: Attic Greek and Homeric Greek. I had been studying the wrong one for over a year. What was it you just wrote: "no education is ever really useless". Except when I'm involved!

One day - when I was young and smug and had taken precisely ONE semester of Greek, I decided to sit in on a discussion re: Plato/Aristotle: what were the real differences, what was meant by particular word choices held in a graduate seminar. After about 15 minutes I slunk out... It was <ahem> all Greek to me.

Hello, hello--I'd like to pick up Section 6 ("Color").
You got it, MoleHill! I've PLed another of the sections in this series and learned a heck of a lot.
When you finish this section, please consider taking on the last one of this series.
Thank you!

I feel ungrateful to point out one small faux pas:
At 8:38 I hear
"... differ at most by three degrees from the path of the Earth. [The equatorial plane of the Sun deviates by only seven and a half degrees, that of Jupiter only half as much.]
The equatorial plane of the Earth deviates ..."
The text is red is missing and that is the only thing I found.
Thank you.

Verla,
For some reason, when I was setting up this project, I assigned sections 11 and 12 to myself. I cannot remember why
But, considering that you're doing such a bang-up job on the earlier sections dealing with the planetary business, I will gladly cede those two sections (totaling 35 minutes) to you to wrap up the discussion of planetary gestation.
Would you agree to this?
I would appreciate it very much.

sections 11 and 12
I will gladly [let you] wrap up the discussion of planetary gestation.
Yes. These have really been fun.
I am finishing up a story in Spanish that is kicking my butt--27 pages, and not big print like this! Only 4 or 5 pages left, but it's slow going. I've spoken Spanish for over 40 years, but it's still much harder. I have to finish that, then I'll consider 11 and 12 as my reward after.
Thanks for asking.

I'll be away April 16-22.
Voy a estar fuera el 16-22 de abril.

Super! I'm changing the MW now to show that 11 and 12 are yours when you get around to them.
