I just posted chapter 3.

We have been getting the smoke from the CA fires and I did a lot of editing with my squeaky voice.
Please let me know if I need to rerecord this. I watched the editing videos so I think I did OK.

I have an air purifier machine on the way for my room. It should be here shortly and I'll finish 6 & 7 up.

First time submitting so I hope I did it correctly. I must say, it's harder but funner than I thought it would be.

Thank you! Normally, you need to paste the link that the uploader gives you into a post in the project thread. But, I did find it in my folder, so we are OK. I will listen to it as soon as I can. I'm sure that you will sound fine. I live in California, too, and right now, the smoke is not bad here yet. I can feel it in the air, that is for sure!

Chapter 3 needs a few fixes, then it will be perfect!

At the beginning, there is about 4 seconds of silence, that needs to be cut down to about half an second. Then, you need to add, "Chapter 3 of" before you say "The Romance of Modern Geology."

At the end, you need to add, "End of chapter 3," and then add 5 seconds of silence.

When you upload again, please use this file name, romanceofmoderngeology_03_grew_128kb.mp3, then paste the link that the uploader gives you into a new post in this thread.

Otherwise, you did a great job!

Chapter 22 is PL OK!

I finished chapter 6. I did the background noise cleanup, then limiter.

Question on volume. Checker it says that my volume is outside the target range. I've been reading the wiki notes and youtube videos.

How do I fix this? I am not even sure what target range I'm in.

Checker should say what the volume level is, our ideal target is 89 dB, with a range of 87-92 dB. You can fix the volume by using Amplify in the Effects tab of Audacity. Whatever the number is for your volume, you can add or take away from the number to get you close to 89 dB.
