you are going to great lengths here, I see, Mike. Thank you, it was a wonderful narration and quite a moralizing tale.wizardDr wrote: ↑July 29th, 2021, 8:34 amHere is The Miser's Wife, section 7.

All words double-checked, silence spaces measured. Right at 86dB on Checker.
Concerning 86 dB, actually we accept between 86 and 92 dB, it doesn't have to be 86 on the dot. In fact we usually try to aim for a good average of 89 so that the differences in the sections are not too great. So 3 dB more would have been perfect, but no worries, 86 is accepted so you don't have to reupload.
Something else though, concerning the intro silence: at the beginning, we recommend between 0.5 and 1 second of silence maximum, (see first post). Everything longer is too long for a reader to wonder whether anything is on the file you have nearly 3 seconds here, so if you had any other errors in the text, I would have asked you to cut this a little be down to under 1 second. As the rest was flawless, I will not make you reupload just for a bit of silence. Just wanted to mention it for future recordings.
Thank you, I'll mark it PL ok.
Sonia
hey Allen, long time not seen great that you still keep tabs on the Rover project. Section 9 is yours and thank you for making us fully claimed. Which means I will start the next volume soon.

indeed, this poem somehow was creepy...it was probably an incident that happened at uni and nobody could explain this man. It sounds to me like some sort of urban legend monster.alanmapstone wrote: ↑July 29th, 2021, 10:52 pm Section 12 - Visitor

indeed, but it was a bit predictable. I wonder if the soldiers waiting for their turn ever got in after this confession.alanmapstone wrote: ↑August 4th, 2021, 2:02 amSection 10 - Yellow Domino

aww what a wonderful and entertaining story. I like Mitford's style a lot. She conjures up the British countryside and life so extremely well. There should be more stories by her. Wonderfully narrated as well, Steve, it was really a pleasure to listen to. Especially the end scene with Monsieur l'Abbé was very funny.Steve wrote: ↑August 8th, 2021, 5:35 amSection 11 - A Country Apothecary - Uploaded:

thank you, again, what an excellent story. Probably based on a true event ? I found it a bit strange that the three sailors would simply stay in port so long to rouse suspicion why didn't they leave earlier, then nobody would have enquired after them.EsoFlair wrote: ↑August 9th, 2021, 2:31 pmSection 2 -The Story of Captain Bird
