May I claim Section 41, Dies Illa, if that's going to be done as a solo with one person reading the stage directions and all the characters in different voices? Or should that be claimed by someone who has a group of people prepared to take the parts?
Back from a low-internet no-Librivox year in Georgia. Glad to be with you again.
I looked through this the other day to see whether it should be done by a group or solo. It seemed to me that many of the roles have only one section of lines so I decided to keep it as a solo.JoannaHoyt wrote: ↑August 22nd, 2021, 6:16 am May I claim Section 41, Dies Illa, if that's going to be done as a solo with one person reading the stage directions and all the characters in different voices? It looks like fun and go for it as it is all yours.
Thanks

Comments on the recording.
Your recording itself is excellent except for one repeat which should be removed if it were going to be posted. There was however a lot of background noise. I would suggest running your file through a noise reduction process to drop that down a little.
Technical specs need to match LibriVox requirements:
Volume needs to be no greater than 92 dB with the ideal be 89 dB. (If you run the file through noise reduction, this might drop the volume to where it needs to be without using the amplify feature.
If you are using Audacity, the two below can be set when you are exporting the file to mp3.
use a constant bit rate of 128 kbps
recording should be mono not stereo
Your file also needs to be all lower case.
These are all simple things to fix. You already have hardest (except for the repeat) correct - the quality of your reading itself.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
M
