mleigh wrote: August 13th, 2021, 7:09 pm You have a wonderful weekend too.

Have you uploaded the file as described in the instructions on the first page of this forum? If so, just post the URL and time of the recording here and then it will get PL'd by our great DPL.

I hope that answers your question. If not, Let me know and I'll try to explain myself better.

Thanks,

M
Thank you for your quick response. Here is the link to my recording of Chapter 5, Crossing the Rubicon, at a duration of 12:31.
Thank you. It is Ready for PL

M
Sorry, do I have to do anything for it or post it somewhere or is it just going to be reviewed?

All you need to do is to wait for the PL report, and address any issues brought up. If there are no issues, then you are completely finished with the recording.

I'd like to try chapter 8, 'An Auld Farrant Laddie" if you please. It's got a nice sprinkling of phonetically spelled 'Scotch' if you will, and I love taking a crack at that. (If we had an actual Scot PLing he or she would probably have a hearty laugh at my attempt, but I still enjoy the effort). No, I've never been 'across the pond' as they say, but I have been to Nova Scotia which is probably as close as you can get on this side.
Thanks,
Brize

Chapter 8 is yours - Thank you.

You are braver than I am. I keep postponing editing chapter 1 as I know my pronunciation is going to be all over the place.

With apologies for slowness on this occasion, Chapter 11 The Major is uploaded:

With Scottish accent  , though strictly speaking not an Angus accent. My mum's family were from there but I'm from further north in Aberdeen. As it happens, though I now live in the South West of England, I was in Drumscondie only a couple of weeks ago! It could be coincidence... :D

Your "wrong" Scottish accent is going to be much closer than my mid America accent.

Thank you - and no worry about the timeframe - you can't be any slower getting it finished than I am.

It is marked as Ready for PL.

Thanks again,

Can I have section 6? Looking through, it's going to be a challenge with the scots bits.

I love scotch. I have a bottle on my side-board now. Let's see which of use can massacre it most :0).

Here you are: https://librivox.org/uploads/kazbek/gentlepersuasion_06_gray_128kb.mp3 14:22.
I had to turn off the checker option for "unconvincing accent" to get it to pass :0).
