Hello Lynda
I did adhere to the notes you assigned. I did the recording over again. I used the checker app to verify the outcomes. Please find the attached audio for Chapter 1. The track length:00:09:35 I managed to adjust the volume to the prescribed level

Hi Patrice -

Excellent recordings!

Sections 11 and 12 are PL OK.

Section 13 needs this said at the end: "End of section 13" "Read by your name, city, date." "End of The Wavy Tailed Warrior, by John Breck." You almost got it right but it is in the wrong order and missing End of Section 13....

Hi Refilwe Baloyi. I listened to your recording of chapter 1 and could not really understand it. Are you using any kind of microphone with noise cancelling built in? Those cause many problems. The sound fades out and in unpredictably making it hard to hear what you are saying. If you don't mind I would love to have you again make a little recording, 15 seconds would be fine, but without any processing at all; in other words don't apply any effects to it like amplify or compression or noise reduction. Just record a little track , save it as "my raw track", upload it and post the link in this project thread. In other words, just make a Reply here and say "OK Phil, here it is". I know this is a bother but I want to check that you are not applying too many 'fixes' that may be causing the problem. Thanks you for your patience !!! Image

Thank you for doing this. First of all, your 'raw' recording is significantly more understandable than your finished recording of chapter 1 that you just uploaded. That implies strongly that you are applying too much processing (effects, etc). Your volume still goes up and down but not nearly as much.

Your chapter 1 track is still hardly understandable to me because of the variation in volume.
Here is a video I made showing how it sounds to me https://youtu.be/o_f2FEyB2o0

I am going to suggest that you stop all post-processing until we check out your recording set up. Does your microphone have a noise cancelling feature? If so please turn it off.

With that said, I would ask your patience to record that chapter 1 another time, without any processing at all and speaking as clearly as possible. I think that will do the trick.
