thank you, Colleen, another perfect PL ok section. Quite action-packed this time.

Two more to go, and just like for the others, if you need more time, let me know before the deadline, and it will be no problem :)

hi again, Heather...

so, I haven't gotten any updates from the reader, so Section 80: The American Cross has been assigned to you now, since you stated an interest in taking the next available section. Is that fine with you ? It's a short section, so should give you no trouble.

Please read the first two posts carefully where you'll find all the special rules for this project (short intro, footnotes, title, etc). If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Happy recording

I'm certain I'll have to do some edits, French names will be the bane of my existence! But it's good have the ball rolling.
- Jake Nop
hi Jake, and thank you for this wonderfully and exciting narration of one of the most famous parts of WWI. And no worries for the French names of towns, I think you did a great job with the pronunciation, they are all easily understood.

This is an awesomely good first section for LV, congrats ! I really enjoyed listening to your voice and already hope to hear you more often in one of my projects  For the moment this project is fully claimed, but you can always stay on the lookout for orphans...

There are a few small things I'd like you to correct though, before this section is ready:

> at 18:47: (p. 137) stumble and repeat "the 4th of August they reoccupied Fleury" - stumble can be cut out, or maybe this part of the sentence needs re-recording if you cannot make the cut accurately

> the whole section has a lot of background noise, which would benefit from some noise-cleaning. Audacity has a good noise-cleaning program, please try the following:

> select a small portion where you don't speak (usually at the end of your file)
> go to Effect - Noise Reduction
> first select Get Noise Profile
> then highlight the entire recording
> again Effect - Noise Reduction
> now select OK

The rest is perfect. Simply reupload with the exact same filename, then the old file will be replaced by the new one.

Thanks !

Sonia

excellent correction and the noise level is also much better now  Thank you, and congrats on your first PL ok section, Jake. Many, many more to come hopefully. Maybe I'll be hearing you again in one of the projects I'm DPL to soon 8-)

Have fun with your next choice !

Hi,

I have my 2 month deadline coming up in a week on the last two sections I’m signed up for, and I’d like to request an extension. Thanks!

thank you, Heather for this fast turn-around :9: And I really liked your narrative, you have an agreeable voice to listen to.

I found it very funny that they mentioned the tobacco supply so extensively  nowadays it would not be very PC to mention this in a medical report. Times change.

There is only one missing bit at the end:

> at 4:15: please include "this recording is in the public domain" at the end. Since you correctly said the shortened intro-disclaimer, the public domain is not mentioned there, so we need to mention it at the end. (see example for disclaimer in the first post)

The rest is perfect
