Ukridge, by P. G. Wodehouse (1881 - 1975)

Volunteers outside the USA: P. G. Wodehouse died in 1975. This person's work may still be protected by copyright in countries where copyright duration is determined by the author's death date. In Europe this is 70 years; in Canada it is 50 years; and in Australia it is 70 years for authors who died after 1955.

All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/ukridge-by-p-g-wodehouse/

“Do not count your chickens before they are hatched” is a classic saying that might well have been remembered by Ukridge. Ukridge is always on the verge of making a fortune and counting his thousands before they are made. But Dame Fortune is a fickle jade. She eludes him in his great scheme about the dog college, wherein he was to turn out a world supply of trained dogs, and likewise in his backing of Battling Billson, the tender-hearted pugilist. But hope and George Tupper keep Ukridge going. He is ever ready for the next assault. First published as short stories. (Summary by From the introduction)

I'd like to read section 2, although I have a clarifying question; in the forum section 2 is shown as "Ukridge’s Dog College," although in the text itself that appears to be chapter one. Is the section list incorrect, or is there something I'm missing?

Oh, who am I kidding? The chance to read the words of a genius comes along all too rarely. Can I have 7 and 8?

The order in the MW has got mixed up (unfortunately it is easy to do). I need to PL the section already submitted before I know how it needs to be fixed.

You may, but please don’t record until I’ve sorted out the MW

I can certainly assign that, but as already noted, I need to sort out the Magic Window, so please hold off til I’ve done that.

I'm sorry, I've just finished recording Chapter 2 (section 3 in the original sequence), Ukridge's Accident Syndicate. I have read the intro and outro as Chapter 2, which is what it said in the ebook. If it's still okay for me to send in this chapter I will do that once I've got it edited, which may be a few days, or if not just let me know.

Editing is time consuming, so I suggest you hold off on that til I’ve sorted it out. At present, the worst thing is you’ve read an enjoyable chapter 8-)
