Is it OK that I've been taking a while to get through my 6 sections? I know usually there's a "get it done within 3 months of claiming it" rule but don't know if that applies to larger blocks like this. I've been having some trouble with my audio equipment, hoping to get it fixed soon.

The default is 2 months, although not all BCs enforce it. The best policy is to ask for an extension before the deadline. I’ll give you an extra month, but if that’s not enough we can negotiate.

Hi Lynette,

I tried to fix the place where section 29 "dropped off" and uploaded it again just now. I do see that the PL is correct, there are four remaining chapter divisions within the The World on the Eve of War--8, 9, 10, 11. I don't want to mess up your numbering, but doubt I can upload them all as 'section 30." Would it be okay to label them something like Section 30.1, Section 30.2, Section 30.3 and Section 30.4?

As for the remaining section, that alternative numbering won’t work with our system.
Please record them all in one file (you don’t have to record in one session,if it’s too much). I see some of the earlier sections are short, so I should be able to manipulate them if necessary. We have a limit of about 72 minutes-ish (not a hard and fast rule), although over 60 will fail Checker.

Not really, as far as I can see, for in such cases Checker shows an "Error", but also shows all the interesting to us techs correctly... Am I right?
Thanx! 🍍

I wouldn’t know... I’m not a techie 8-) But the settings most of us use fail anything over 60 minutes. But it’s safe to ignore that if there is nothing else flogged.

https://librivox.org/uploads/lynnet/joanandpeter_30_wells_128k.mp3 Here is section 30! It just made it at 75 minutes! Due to the length, I did not put "end of section 30" at the end, but can try to do so if needed. I compressed it and it passed all checkers except for length. Whew!

Sec 29 PL notes:

00:28 – 00:35 – really unsteady volume, its drastic increases and decreases
00:31 – I hear “section 7” instead of “The World on the Eve of the War Part 7”
11:40 – I hear “end of section 29, section 7, The World on the Eve of the War”, instead of simply “end of section 29”
About 10 sec of silence at the end, instead of ~ 5 sec needed.

Cheers 🌺

It does need the outro, thanks.

Hi there, here is Chapter 7. This did not pass checker because of the length - 1:07:19.58. It did pass the volume but I think it sounds very off (I assume because I was messing around with noise reduction) and I'm not sure how to fix it and I was wondering if you are able to fix it on your end (if you think there's a problem), if not, do you have any suggestions? Thanks for your help, Gini

Hi - I see that that my next chapter to read, chapter 8 is quite long, longer than chapter 7, and that was over an hour. Should I split it into 2 sections? Just curious what you would like me to do, thanks, Gini
