Sec 08 PL notes:Theginmann wrote: ↑June 9th, 2021, 11:52 am Here is section 8 (chapter 7- part 2) - length - 28:18.56
1.6 s of silence at the start, instead of
In the intro, the section is miscalled “chapter 7” and “The School of St. George and the Venerable Bede Part 5”, but this is, according to the MW, section 8, entitled “The School of St. George and the Venerable Bede Part 2”.Leave 0.5 to 1 second of silence at the beginning.
In accordance to how you read it, I believe it would be appropriate to say: “Section 8 of Joan and Peter. This is a LibriVox recording. All LibriVox recordings are in the public domain. For more information or to volunteer, please visit librivox.org." [Optional: "Read by your name."] "Joan and Peter", by H. G. Wells.
Chapter the seventh. Part 2. The School of St. George and the Venerable Bede. Part 5”.
In this way, is well done, for instance, section 22.
But I also believe it is better to ask Lynnet for sure.
At the end of recording, the section 8 is miscalled “chapter 7” too.
The rest is Okay; thank you, Gini!

Thank you! I try to do my best)
Just checking if I'm really done - I didn't see a PL response for the previous section, 21, and that one is still showing in the list as pending.
As long as my sections really have all been approved, I'll volunteer to take those. I had thought that chapter 12 looked really huge due to the number of sections, but now I see that in terms of word count it's only 3/4 the size of chapter 11 so I guess the sections will be short.

I will assign those sections to you, but you can easily be taken out again if you change your mind.
Thanks. For now I can just start dividing up the text. I do think the sections will be quite a bit shorter than they were in ch. 11, since there are more of them for fewer total words, but I guess there will be a lot of unevenness of that kind no matter what.Lynnet wrote: ↑July 3rd, 2021, 7:27 amHmmm... Here's a possible breakdown of chapter 12. There are 11 numbered parts in the original, with greatly varying lengths. To make 8 sections out of that without breaking any parts up, a few of them can be grouped together with shorter + longer ones, but due to the order they're in, that still won't make things very even:
s.23: (#1 + #2) 3339 words
s.24: (#3 + #4 + #5) 4021 words
s.25: (#6) 4682 words
s.26: (#7) 1556 words
s.27: (#8) 3133 words
s.28: (#9) 2650 words
s.29: (#10) 3217 words
s.30: (#11) 1679 words

I'll take sections 35 and 36.

I`m taking exams now, therefore my prooflistening here is a little slower than I`d like. That section is indeed still pending.

Looking at your usual high level of recording, I believe you don`t have to be worried about the only still-unPLed section. Accordingly, I`m convinced you can proceed well with any other... Am I right?
