Well, Ignatius is a very special penguin that loves helping out around LibriVox. One of his favorite things is to put recordings into the magic window because he loves seeing it fill up with wonderful tracks. (He also hopes to bump into Petunia, our other penguin; he has a crush on her)ahibbard wrote: ↑March 27th, 2021, 2:54 pmI didn't know that the Magic Window made Penguins happy!philchenevert wrote: ↑March 25th, 2021, 4:11 pm Ignatius, the LibriPenguin of Happiness will put this into the Magic Window for proof listening.

Here's my 1 minute testphilchenevert wrote: ↑March 18th, 2021, 3:27 pmHi palmers7 and a big welcome to LibriVox! I have assigned that section to you but before you record it, please make and upload a 1 minute test to be sure your recording set up is OK. Instructions can be found in our Wiki and in the first post of this project but Here is a video that may help too:
How to Make your 1 minute test.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BlaRY_-bcfs
and then How to Upload your 1 minute test How to Upload your 1 minute test
(You may post the link to your test in this forum and I will see it much more quickly)
I also recommend Getting To Know our Forums Getting To Know Our Forums
We just want to check out your technical specs. Don't forget to post the link either in this thread or in Listeners WAnted forum. And how would you like to be credited in our catalog? What name? most of us use our real name but it is up to you.

You will need to correct several things in your technical specs and make another test:palmers7 wrote: ↑March 28th, 2021, 12:57 pm
Here's my 1 minute test
https://librivox.org/uploads/tests/test_palmers7.mp3
1. Your test is in stereo (two tracks) we need it in mono
2. Your bit rate is ~104 kbps; we need it to be 128 kbps constant
3. Your volume is 81.9 decibels; this is much too low. we aim at 89 decibels.
If you are using Audacity here is a video on setting the first two: https://youtu.be/l00VDvGTieg
So, please fix these things, increase your volume and make another test, call it TEST 2, upload an put the link here I will check it out quickly.

That was quick! You have indeed corrected all technical aspects but your volume is still a bit too low at 83 decibels.
Increase the gain, and moving closer to the microphone might help to increase the volume. Here is a video on the Checker program that will enable you to check your output volume https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QKVOYsaDoRo&feature=youtu.be.
So please make another test with louder volume, name it TEST 3, and upload it. You are almost there so stick with it!!!
