I look forward to hearing your comments!

Hi Anita! Another fellow Canadian reader!

Here is your PL feedback on your Chapter 19. You read this section really well! I enjoyed listening to it!

A tip when doing PL feedback - start at the end and work towards the beginning (or top of feedback) and that way the time stamps will not change on you. :)

0:00 – please leave only .5 to 1 second of silence at the beginning of recordings.
0:22 – please reduce the 3 seconds down to 1 between sentences
4:03 – bobble of twice – please remove one of them.
4:45 – change “his” to “each” before eye
5:05 – please reduce the 4 seconds down to 2 between sentences
5:17 – please only leave 5 seconds of silence at the end of recordings.

Please let me know if you have any questions!

Hi Lynda,

It's great to see another Canuck as well! Thank-you for the helpful feedback.

I have a question about length of pauses between sentences. at 0:22, there should be a 1 second pause between sentences. At 5:05, it should be 2 seconds. Is there a standard length of pause between sentences?

Also, when I finish editing this, do I send the revised version as a reply to this message or start a new one? I'm hurriedly watching Phil Chenevert's videos on editing. They're a great help, as I know nothing on the subject.

Cheers,
Anita

Hi Anita!

The "pauses" is just about what sounds right and does not leave the listener thinking that something has gone wrong with the silence. The 0:22 pause I asked to be 1 second as that is what you had done through the introduction. At 5:05 I believe that was at the end of the reading before you said the close - I tend to leave 2 seconds there so that is why I recommended that number instead of the several seconds that were there.

As for when you are done, please re-save the file with the same name as before and upload it the same way you did before too and then post it to a new message with the time. What happens "under the covers" is your original recording is renamed automatically and saved and the newly uploaded one is now the current one. That way all recordings follow the format to save them for the book except for the section numbers.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Hi Lynda,

That is fabulous! :D Thank-you for the advice, and thank-you, Phil for the instructional editing videos.

By the way, can you attribute this to Anita Hibbard?

Thanks

Anita

P.S. How did you know I have a cat? :)
