Thank you for 12 and 13. Ignatius, the LibriPenguin of Happiness Image will put this into the Magic Window for proof listening.

WW,

I enjoyed your readings. They seem so friendly and 'chummy'. :D

The first thing is that both of them are above the maximum 92dB level for LV. Chapter 12 is at 94.4 and Chapter 12 is 93.8. So if you could decrease the volumes in each down closer to the goal of 89 that would be great.

In 12 I found:

3:13 "What do you mean?" Mr. Fox asked him. This is so quiet, especially the first phrase, that when you decrease the volume on the section, it will be so quiet as to be entirely lost.

3:38 he decided that it must be "No." There is a stumble at the beginning of the phrase.

3:53 If you could cut down this silent space it would make the story flow a little better.

Also, at the end of sentences, you would often drop off the silence so as to loose the last word or two of the sentence. I didn't hear that in 13. After you correct the small errors and decrease the volume on them, listen to them again, without reading along with the script as see if you can hear what I heard.

In 13:

At the very beginning could you shorten the entry silence down to between .5 and 1 second?

1:58.5 Benny Badger demanded suddenly. You said demeaned

2:54.5 "Wait a moment!" said Benny, There was a added sound between 'said' and 'Benny' that can easily be deleted.

4:16.5 "Why, you'd rob them yourself . You said Why'd you It gives quite a different meaning to the sentence.

Thanks for your hard work, and I am looking forward to listening to these again.

Great work on your text corrections. Section 12 is PLOK

But there are a couple of corrections needed on 13. At the beginning you cut a little too much off of it and it is now less than .5 seconds, and we don't want anyone to miss any of your story. Also, when you quieted it down, you kind of over did it, and now it is at 85.8 which is below the standard of 86. On 12, you got it to 89.1, just great.
I just thought of something. Have you downloaded the Checker program that was developed for Librivox? It will show you, among other things, exactly what the volume is on any of your recordings. Here is that link to find out about it and get it: https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Checker. Also, here is a program I use to help me get my files at the correct volume. There are others, but I enjoy using this because of it's accuracy and simplicity. It is called mp3Gain https://mp3gain.en.softonic.com/.

Good work on the corrections, and the rest of the stuff is just learning how to use the tools we have. We have ALL been there. It will come.

Your volume is 90.2 which is well with in the 86-92 range, but you added a little too much to your intro silence, so it is now over one second. The easiest way to fix that is to go into Audacity, import it, see how much you are over, then 'select' that much plus just a little bit more for safety, the delete that section, check it, and it will be just right. Sorry about all this, but I have to do what I have to do.

Hi! I have my sections recorded - I just need to edit through them. My finals got pushed to this week, so is it okay if I upload everything by the 11th? If not, I'll try to edit through tonight and upload them.

Of course you can wait. It is better to do a good job of editing. We are not in a hurry. Good luck on your finals.

I'm so sorry. I listened to this a few days ago, and then, somehow, I forgot to respond here in the forum.

Well, your intro is now about one quarter of a second, a little short. I am so sorry that it is taking you so much work. :(

As for your over all reading, just a couple of comments. One is sometimes you get to reading a little fast and some words are lost. At the end of some sentences, you drop the volume and again, some words are lost. And, especially at the beginning of this recording, there are places where the volume rises and drops in the middle of sentences. Maybe, if there is someone there that can listen to it for you. Over all, a good job. Keep up the good work.
