This is Texas, 1914? I believe I can read this for you. I expect a week or so for turnaround. I'd like to listen to some other character interpretations, if that's all right.

I was not familiar with the Little Colonel books, so looked it up best as I could. If I understand correctly, Mary has traveled all over, but comes from Kansas, while Phil is from Arizona and appears much older than he is. The only Texans who speak in this chapter are Mrs. Blythe and her maid, so I did my best to approximate appropriate accents for the area and time.
The snatch of verse is from "Bedouin Love Song." I used a tune from a recording one year after the story publication date; it should be close to authentic.
