The checker complained about the volume? I tried amplifying it, and normalising it, but it still said there was something wrong, afraid I couldn't work out what, as it didn't say to quiet or to loud, just "outside of target range"?

Sorry this is only my second upload (the first one didn't throw up any errors in the checker).

Let me know what I need to do.

So when you use Checker it will flag up under validation what needs adjusting. If you click on the tab which says information you can see there what the volume is. It is currently at 86 so I am not sure why it is saying it is out of the range as this is acceptable to Librivox. We do aim for 89 dB ideally but this is okay.

In Audacity you will also find the option to amplify under 'effects'.

Also adding in a plug in called replay gain will help you to check your volume in Audacity. The link for the video on how to do this is below.

That's excellent thanks. I'll check out the Audacity plug-in, and look again at the checker to find where the tab is that will let me know the volume.

Lovely reading and great characterisation. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to your reading. All the technical aspects are good as well. The only thing I would advise for future recordings is to ask that you just pull back a bit from the microphone as it is just at the top end of causing distortion. Ideally have your microphone to the side of your mouth or use a pop filter if you can to help reduce this happening. But for this file it is acceptable and passes the test for Librivox. I look forward to hearing more of your reading. Have fun.

I'm embarrassed to say that I had to re-submit Chapter 6, yet again. I listened again and found a repeat of a segment. I have removed it. Here is the revision. -Kim
