You put a lot into your reading. Thanks

Section 15 – corrections should be made for:

2:05 nevertheless, when Damna was gone, he repented his having sent him. You said repeated

3:03 8. Enemies reconciled by constraint. – you said recounseled

3:35 without any other design than to spend his days lazily in eating and sleeping. – you said spread

5:16 Damna, on this, immediately swore to him; and Cohotorbe, upon the faith of his oaths, consented to go and wait upon the Lion. Damna, on this, ran before to give the King no- tice of Cohotorbe's coming; and our Ox, arriving soon after, made a profound reverence to the King, who received him with great kindness, and asked him what occasion had brought him into his dominions? Forgot to read bolded words

Craig
Thanks so much, Craig!

Thanks for the corrections Christina. They fit in very well.

I still hear recounseled for reconciled.

3:03 8. Enemies reconciled by constraint. – you said recounseled :D

So sorry about that! There's a little irony in taking some extra time to get the word, "reconciled" right

I just finished with section 54.

Here is the link just in case https://librivox.org/uploads/lynnet/fablesofpilpay_54_anonymous_128kb.mp3

Thanks for my first Librivox experience,

Thomas, you should be really pleased with how well your first reading turned out. I'm impressed! Thanks for being a part of this. - April

There are a few technical notes that I think you can work with to really perfect this selection:
  • The volume is coming in at 93.2 and should ideally be within the range of 89.0 and 92.0 dB. You can run it through Replay Gain (and possibly the Amplify effect, although I rarely use that. I'm no expert on this yet - just ask Craig, who had to fix my volume on one piece!)
  • I believe the MC wanted everyone to say the Fable # as part of the title of the selection, so please add in "Fable Five" at the 26 sec mark.
  • Places where sentence fragments were repeated: 3:36, 4:10, and 5:20. The second instance of each is perfect, so I bet you meant to delete the ones that have the timestamps I've mentioned.
  • Normally, this wouldn't be worth mentioning, but since you are in there anyway, at 3:12, you have "serve you an acceptable service" instead of "do you an acceptable service"
  • 3:22 extended pause
  • 3:27 "King" has been subbed in for "thing"
  • 3:33 "Vizier" is pronounced differently than it is at 6:40 (the 6:40 one is closer to how I've heard it pronounced in other stories)
  • 4"52 "evens" has been subbed in for the text "Ravens"
  • And please leave 5 seconds of silence at the end.
I was finally able to fix those. Here you go!

Awesome, thank you for fixing the volume on this! Good work, Thomas. Once you update the reading with the below corrections, you will be PL-OK!
  • I believe the MC wanted everyone to say the Fable # as part of the title of the selection, so please add in "Fable Five" at the 26 sec mark. Also, according to the version we are reading, the title should be "The Dervise and the Four Robbers" rather than "...and the Four Thieves"
  • 3:25 the sentence fragment "the thing, at length, was done" has been omitted from your reading. Can you add it in?
  • Places where sentence fragments were repeated: 3:33, 4:07, and 5:18. The second instance of each is perfect, so I bet you meant to delete the ones that have the timestamps I've mentioned.
  • Normally, this wouldn't be worth mentioning, but since you are in there anyway, at 3:13, you have "serve you an acceptable service" instead of "do you an acceptable service"
  • 4:22 extended pause
  • And please leave 5 seconds of silence at the end.
