Thanks!cavaet wrote: ↑March 13th, 2021, 10:23 pmI wondered about that, LGBTQ, so asked Elise, she said put it in, so in it went, I'll remove it. As for the other bits, of course, I will correct. Should be done by WednesdayChuckW wrote: ↑March 13th, 2021, 7:18 pmReally well done! So well, in fact, that I immediately started searching for other Bret Harte stories that weren't in the catalogue.cavaet wrote: ↑March 2nd, 2021, 2:59 pm https://librivox.org/uploads/annise/outofthecloset_02_various_128kb.mp3

Section Two. In the Tules, by Bret Harte
I also apologize for not warning you about the racial epithet at the end.
I only found a couple of minor errors:
beginning - the title of the collection is slightly wrong -- "LGBTQ" is said, not "LGBTQ+"
5:50 - a minor blip in the audio, with a stretch of this sentence missing (the missing bits have been capitalized) - "Even had he the time and money to spend in a passage on the boat, and thus actively REALIZE THE GREAT WORLD of which he had only these rare glimpses, a certain proud, rustic shyness kept him from it."
9:26 - "The stranger again look… stared curiously at him." - remove look

Hiya! could I request a possible extension?
I recorded it once, was about an hour into editing it, and realised it was completely and utterly rubbish //soy sad
I have since gone back and (just finished) re-recorded it, but trying to find a time when everyone else is out of the house (our walls are definitely not sound-proof!) was not the easiest thing in a pandemic!
I am still working on it, it just needs editing now

Thank you so much, both of you!
Absolutely, and that's not a problem whatsoever. I know what its like to record something and be utterly dissatisfied with it, to the point where I've wanted to start over from scratch. You're welcome to take your time on this. I've given you an extension and can check in with you later about it, if you want.lingyan wrote: ↑March 17th, 2021, 8:47 am Hiya! could I request a possible extension?

Hello --
Finally took a day off of work to attempt to catch up and was able to complete this. Loved the story so much, and it was *anything* but coded.
I did record the intro as saying the plus, to come back and see the whole discussion here. In the work I do, we agreed to say the plus as a way to actively signal to our colleagues who fall outside of the LGBTQ acronym that we see them and are creating space, so it's become habit. Having said that, happy to change to just the LGBTQ (no plus) for consistency. We all do terminology differently.
But here's the story:

Hi,
Just to check in and let you know that I plan to record and complete my section very soon -- I fell away from LV for a couple of weeks but I'm back and raring to go!

I loved this story, so sweet and a little sad but lovely. Thanks so much for putting this collection together, so glad I could take part!
Edit to add: the link to the story in the list in the comment is correct, but the link in the magic window goes to a different story. Not sure if that's something that needs fixed before cataloging...
