Pl notes for chapter 9:

0:17 'Wild' is missing from the title here

6:20 'Here is the hind foot of a Snowshoe in winter, contrasted with the hind foot of a Jackrabbit that was nearly three times its weight.' is missing. I'm not sure if you omitted it on purpose as it refers to a picture but i think we should probably keep it in, if you wouldn't mind adding it

The silence at the end is a little long as 7 secs. Can you remove a second or two please

Phew, that was a long one! Well done for getting through that for your first recording Very nicely read, but there are a few bits to be fixed. I suggest that you work from the end of these notes backwards, then the time stamps will all remain the same in audacity.

3:28 A phone goes off during the line 'But at length I was eyewitness of an episode that explained the puzzle.'

3:58 I heard 'that I saw them single file in' but this should say 'that I saw them signally fail in'

8:12 - 8:15 The silence here is around a second too long, and there is a 'clunk' at 8:13

10:13 i heard 'He would not trot a few steps out of my way, then turn and gaze at me' but this should be 'He would trot...'

13:46 I heard 'Then the mountains veered suddenly' but this should be 'Then the mountain breeze veered suddenly'. There is also a phone noise here.

16:11 - 16:15 the silence here is slightly too long.

(optional) 16:15 I wouldn't usual mention pronunciation errors in PL, but this one changes the meaning of the text. It should be the 'bugling' (as in bew-gling) elk, rather than bulging

(optional) 17:37 'bulging' here should again bugling

20:12 In the sentence 'one was fencing and was still perlite' there is a stumble before the word 'perlite' (i think perlite is supposed to a phonetic spelling of 'polite)

20:48-53 The silence here is too long

21:23 There is a phone noise in 'a perfect incarnation of brute ferocity and hate' (you might want to start muting your phone during recording sessions )

24:48 -55 The silence is too long. Generally I dont leave more than 2 seconds of silence anywhere, as listeners might think it stopped playing.

30:27-34 The silence is too long

33:25-30 The silence is too long

33:30 The title 'The Siren Call' is missing

36:00 I heard 'it might have been a wolf or a Bear' but this should be 'it might have been the "woof" of a Bear'

37:25 Phone noise in 'It all seemed so natural'

38:14-18 Silence is too long

43:40-45 Silence is too long

49:04 Phone noise in 'or the well-known ranges.'

50:48 'End of wild animals at home...' can be removed, as this is not the final chapter.

Thank you! Yes, that was a lengthy Chapter; but I wanted to give it a try. Sorry for phone rings. I thought I had edited them out and saved corrected version. I also did leave a bit longer breaks or silence because I was not sure how many seconds a pause should be. I had a difficult time using Audacity in the beginning and don't understand everything about it. I watched YouTube videos and went on the Audacity website. I slowly started to learn more about Audacity as I went along reading the Chapter and feel a bit more comfortable using the app. I will work on corrections.
