All done. Let me know if I need to fix anything! Thanks.

Overall, a good effort.

Just one technical problem and one slip of the tongue keeps it from being PL OK

Chapter 13:

The volume level for this recording comes in at 94.2 dB which is above our limit of 92 dB.

TIME: 02:31 TEXT" "begins to go to pieces when inflexible truth" Reading has the word "when" repeated.

I just need to edit my other one and I will upload it.

Chapter 34 was well-read and easy to understand and would be PL OK if...

Well, you read too much. :hmm: :hmm: We need only to read the scripture reference at the beginning of the chapter and not the actual verses themselves.

Tis a shame as you did a fine job of reading those verses. Just edit them out, repost, and I will list it as PL OK in the MW.

Lomond

Thanks for removing the verses.

Ooooops, aaargh and alas! I forgot to mention that the volume level of the recording was a bit high, coming in at 93.8 dB compared to our limit of 92 dB. Sorry 'bout that.

Greetings -

Kalamareader, who lives just north of me and escaped the wrath of the recent ice-age in the area, has added Chapters 26 and 32 to the list of PL OK offerings for this book. Definitely PL OK, Wayne.

First, a welcome to LibriVox. I hope you find this to be as addicting as many of us have.

You have a good voice for reading things in a strong, authoritative manner. Chapter 27 was a good effort and is listed as PL OK.

Will we hear more from you in the future?

Thank you! This is quite a lot of fun, and I really enjoy taking part in this!

I appreciate the kind words! I'm glad the audio is PL OK!

I will definitely be looking for more things to read on this site! Everyone has been extremely kind and supportive, and it's been quite a treat to get involved. I'm looking to improve my diction and cold reading, and this seems like the perfect way to do so!

Thank you again!

Hi, how do I see decibels and how do I edit them? No one has ever said anything like that before so I've never done it. Thanks

If no one has ever mentioned this to you before, it must mean that your volume has been just fine for each of your recordings up till now. Congratulations! But it's quite common, for many of us, to have slight volume differences from one recording to the next, so measuring and adjusting volume is a good skill to be learning!

There are two ways I use to measure volume. One of them is Checker. (If you don't have Checker yet, I really recommend it! It's very handy to have and easy to use!) It has two tabs, "Validation" and "Information." Under the Information tab, it will list all the technical aspects of your file, including volume in dB.

The other thing I use is ReplayGain. Downloading and installing this one is a little more involved, but the advantage is that you can use it within Audacity, without having to export your file first.

Once you have measured your volume, you can adjust it using Audacity's Amplify feature. Here is a very quick video that shows how to use that tool. In the video, he is using Amplify to make the file louder. But you can make it softer very easily, just by using a negative number in the popup box instead of a positive one. I hope this helps! :D If not, keep asking questions!

Thanks very much for your advice! I will correct this this week, unfortunately I've had some personal issues taking up my time the last week. Thank you!

Aaaargh!

You know that chronological progression is creeping up on you when you have senior weeks instead of senior moments. :-(

Thanks for the corrections, Endellion. Both sections are now PL OK.

I am marking section 5 PL ok, as the error was a minor omission, and the reader has not returned.
