Thanks Michael. It will be a week or so before I'm able to record again, but I should be able to complete the remaining Volume 2 sections before the end of June.

After recording a sequence of five novels, this is very different, with different challenges. Enjoyable nonetheless.

While preparing for the next section, I've just realised I'd given Section 11 the wrong author's name. This is the corrected version. (44:10)

... and I'd missed out a number!!! (2) so here's a further correction. (44:11)

I think I need a cup of tea.

Your pronunciation is impressive in all languages! Section 11 is PL OK. Two small issues in 12:

I hear "part 5" instead of "part 4" at 0:29
knock at 16:13 ("for his relations")

Thanks,

Section 12 corrected and ready for PL. Length 38:21

No idea where that click came from, but I managed to get rid of it (I think) without any re-recording.

Hi Michael,

Thanks for your compliment about pronunciation. I've always loved to hear - and speak a little - other European languages, so a book like this is to be enjoyed from that point of view. I did a basic Italian course a few years ago and although I didn't get much past the 'Two beers, please' stage in speaking the language, I just loved the words themselves.

There are instances where I've left names and places in their anglicised form. This is deliberate, based on a mixture of knowledge and instinct about how these early 20th English gents would have pronounced them.
