Thank you, Geoffrey! If this volume fills up before you're up for another one, I hope you'll find something of interest in volume 3, which I'm planning to launch in early April.

Thank you, PL OK! I have old time 44:13 and new time 44:12, as expected, so I'll assume that 42:42 is a typo.

Someone (possibly me) will reply there and help you adjust your set-up. :)

Since this looks like the first time you'll be assigned a section, let me know under what name (real or nickname) you would like to be credited in the catalog. We can also include a link to your personal website or blog, if you have one.
Hi Michael! I've linked my one-minute test in the Listeners and Editors Wanted forum. I'm looking forward to critiques and feedback.
I'd like to be credited as Andrew Mauls Byron; no personal website link.

Thanks very much!

Edit: here's the link to the thread I made in Listeners and Editors Wanted: viewtopic.php?f=21&t=86396

Hi Andrew,

It looks like someone is already helping you there. Regarding the foreign names you mention, I don't think you need to be concerned. It sounds like you've done a fine job with the names in the excerpt. The most I realistically hope for in an audiobook, is that when it mentions a familiar name, I'm able to recognize it. Anything beyond that belongs to the realm of perfectionism. :) That said, if you ever need help with pronunciation, we have a special thread for that:

You're also welcome to ask in this thread here, and I'll probably be able to provide some tips.

Thanks,
Michael

Hi there, I am Caleb.

Can I claim section 8? This is my first recording. I hope that is alright. I've got my one-minute test approved. The name I would prefer for the catalogue is Jeyapaul Caleb.

Thank you!

HI Michael
Section 31 has been uploaded. The French is kind of butchered!

Delightful Scottish accent! I wish we had occasion to hear more of it. :) Just a few small cuts to make:

(19:53) stumble/repeat: "The religion of Christ restored"
(24:42) little stumble: "were for h..."
(24:55) repeat: "She was allowing..."
(34:34) stumble: "and obst..."

Thanks,
Michael

When this gets published, I'll be sending it to my Scottish friend so he can have a good chuckle!

This should be better [37:55]

Hi Jonathan,

Your French is a very respectable effort. There are just two issues that need to be fixed:

1) The silence at the end is almost 8 seconds. Please shorten to ~5.
2) The average volume of 85.2 dB falls outside our target range of 86-92 dB (ideal 89). Please select the whole track and use the Amplify effect to increase the volume by ~4 dB.

Also, the p-pops seem to be getting more frequent. Have you tried shifting your mic a bit to the side? If you're having difficulty hearing them, you might consider checking with headphones or doing another 1-minute test. Its script has many p's precisely so that this issue can be detected and helped with.

Thanks,
Michael
