Thanks for the update!pianoroll262 wrote: ↑March 19th, 2021, 10:52 am Hi - I am almost finished with sections 25/26. 25 is done. 26 is 75% edited. Expect you'll have them today or tomorrow. Ran into a tech problem and could not use a whole section, so had to re-record it. Live and learn! Thanks for your patience. Be well and safe.

Duty calls. There is a Volume 3 and 4 and who knows how many more to go!Kazbek wrote: ↑March 19th, 2021, 4:38 pmThank you, Kevin! That was fast.KevinS wrote: ↑March 19th, 2021, 1:12 pm Section 43

Do you have a new microphone? I feel like I'm hearing your voice with a new level of clarity.
There's a repeat at 1:47 ("near which") and you stopped 3 pages too soon. So, hurray, we'll hear those Portuguese words read by someone who speaks the language!

I speak closer to the mic now. (No more shouting across my desk.)Kazbek wrote: ↑March 19th, 2021, 9:06 pmDo you have a new microphone? I feel like I'm hearing your voice with a new level of clarity.

Three pages too soon? That's embarrassing. Back to work.

Hi all. I'd like to take section 42 if that is possible. This is my first time reading and I'm looking forward to learning how it's done! Can I still sign on for this even though I haven't done it before?
Edit: here's a one-minute test. I hope I'm doing this correctly. https://librivox.org/uploads/leni/1minutetest_maulsbyron_edit.mp3

Hello and welcome to LibriVox!maulsbyron wrote: ↑March 20th, 2021, 3:07 pm Hi all. I'd like to take section 42 if that is possible. This is my first time reading and I'm looking forward to learning how it's done! Can I still sign on for this even though I haven't done it before?

Doing a 1-minute test is definitely the right thing to do, especially before tackling a long section like this. Your software settings need some tuning to meet the LibriVox specifications. Please post the link to your test in a new message in the forum Listeners & Editors Wanted:
viewforum.php?f=21
Someone (possibly me) will reply there and help you adjust your set-up.
Since this looks like the first time you'll be assigned a section, let me know under what name (real or nickname) you would like to be credited in the catalog. We can also include a link to your personal website or blog, if you have one.
In the meantime, I'll pencil in your claim in the Notes column of the Magic Window.

Hi Michael,
Below are my two chapters with link and time. I put both through Checker and they passed. Let me know of any changes needed, happy to comply. Surprised me how interesting it was reading history, enjoyed it. I uploaded the 2 files twice and hope this does not cause you any confusion. Thanks

Thank you, pianoroll! I'm glad you enjoyed it. A new upload would replace a previously uploaded file of the same name on the server, so it should be fine. I will PL over the next few days.pianoroll262 wrote: ↑March 20th, 2021, 4:34 pm Hi Michael,

Lovely reading! There's just a little stumble/repeat to fix in section 26 at 42:50 ("the campaign"). Section 25 is PL OK!pianoroll262 wrote: ↑March 20th, 2021, 4:34 pm Hi Michael,

whew. that was a rough one. I can't commit to another one yet. Hopefully I caught all the errors in this one.
