Thanks for response. I modified the audacity file to increase the db level by 4 which includes a clipping edit as well. I think it changed the quality of the sound a bit as it increased the volume. Also deleted 3 seconds at the end. In the future, I'll record at a higher volume and turn the mic away to deal with the popping. I'm wondering if Audacity has a function that shows the average volume level?

Anyway here's the link

Thank you, Jonathan! Section 31 is PL OK. Audacity doesn't have a built-in effect for measuring volume, but there's an effect you can install, called ReplayGain. It allows you to measure your volume relative to 89 dB in the Analyze mode, and change the average volume to 89 dB in the Normalize mode:

Hi, here's section 19.

https://librivox.org/uploads/leni/cambridgemodernhistory2_19_128kb.mp3 [29:57]

I still did not managed to remove every breathing sound, it was very mixed together, but I re-recorded some parts.

Thank you, Simon! Will PL before the end of the week. Breathing sounds are OK. Our readers are expected to be human. :)

SimonParent wrote: April 6th, 2021, 7:01 pm Hi, here's section 19.
Fewer PL notes than before:

(2:19) p. 165 stumble/repeat: "He denounced... monarchism"
(2:29) I hear "Eurochrist" instead of "Eucharist"
(5:18) p. 166 I hear "corporation" instead of "corporations"
(8:27) p. 167 Eucharist
(9:31-9:41) Large volume increase. Please select and de-amplify by 3 dB.
(9:48) "ruin" is hard to understand (you pronounce it well in the last sentence of the section)
(20:51) p. 171 I hear "retain" instead of "restrain"
(24:13) I hear "there made" instead of "there make"
(25:45) p. 172 I hear "as the prince" instead of "as the price"
(26:24) I hear "destruction" (distruption?) instead of "disruption"

The overall volume is 83.6 dB, which is outside our target range of 86-92 dB. Please amplify the whole track by ~5 dB.

Thanks!

Thank you. I will definitely look for it. It was my first go at doing an audiobook read (other than my demo) from start to finish. Was always told that audiobooks were very challenging, especially if you do your own editing. I can now verify that guidance. The piece was a real challenge, especially the plethora of difficult pronunciations. And editing is quite laborious. But all in all, I found it a rewarding experience. I learned a great deal, not only pertinent to improving my craft, but also in the history of the reformation. Talk to you soon.

John
I’m always surprised at how long the editing takes, even when I make a special effort to use a distinctive sound (in my case, a loud Bronx cheer) to mark off my mistakes while recording.

Hi! Here's the link for section 8. The duration is 31:37

I'm sure I've butchered a bunch of names. But yes, do let me know if I have to redo them. Thank you!
