Personal Poe Collection Compiled by EliseDee and Cavaet by Poe (1809 - 1849).

This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/personal-poe-collection-compiled-by-elisedee-and-cavaet-by-edgar-allan-poe/
We present here ten stories and poems from the master of horror, Mr. Edgar Allan Poe. They are our personal favorites. We hope you enjoy them as much as we enjoy presenting them to you. ( cavaet)
    1. How to claim a part, and "how it all works" here To find a section to record, simply look at point 5. below at the sections. All the ones without names beside them are "up for grabs." Click "Post reply" at the top left of the screen and tell us which section you would like to read (include the section number from the left-most column in the reader list, please). Read points 6. to 8. below for what to do before, during and after your recording.
    2. New to recording? Please read our Newbie Guide to Recording!
    3. Is there a deadline? We ask that you submit your recorded sections within 1-2 months of placing your claim. Please note that to be fair to the readers who have completed their sections in a timely way, if you haven't submitted your recording(s) after two months, your sections will automatically be re-opened for other readers to claim, unless you post in this thread to request an extension. Extensions will be granted at the discretion of the Book Coordinator. If you cannot do your section, for whatever reason, just let me know and it'll go back to the pool. There's no shame in this; we're all volunteers and things happen. Please do not sign up for more sections than you can complete within the two month deadline.
    4. Where do I find the text? Source text (please only read from this text!): Various: Gutenberg sourced
    5. Please claim sections (the numbers in the first column below)! If this is your first recording, please let me know under which name or pseudonym you'd like to appear in the LibriVox catalogue. We can also link to a personal website/blog.

Prospective Prooflisteners: Please read the Listeners Wanted FAQ before listening! Level of prooflistening requested: standard

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

This is set up.

Since you have different sources, this will be a "collection" in that you'll need to enter the source info in each section. Here's a link to instructions: https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/BC's:_How_to_update_the_Magic_Window#Special_Instructions_for_Collections_.E2.80.93_Entering_Section_Metadata

Tricia,
In the intro then I think it should be section number, Poe collection, Libriviox disclaimer, read by.... The Poe Collection, by Edgar Allan Poe, then title, rather than a repeat of the section number. OK?

As far as the end goes we could do either end of title, or section.

I think we have all ten decided, so I'll put then up in the MW, probably in the morning, but maybe tonight. Thank you, as always for your looking after us.

Yes - perfectly OK!

I like section number, because then a listener will hear "End of section 4.... section 5 of Poe Collection" so they know that they didn't skip one. IMHO, of course. ;)

I'm sure you don't mind me to sweep in here and be difficult.

To me the title "The Poe Collection" sounds so definitive and as if it contains everything Poe had ever written.
Maybe it's better to indicate that this is your personal selection from Poe's oeuvre? We've had projects like this before:

https://librivox.org/a-personal-anthology-of-shakespeare-compiled-by-martin-clifton/
https://librivox.org/personal-collection-of-short-tales-compiled-by-carmie/

Just a suggestion... :D

I see, I see! ........Actually i was never in love with my title anyway, which is why the original was The Poe Collection Vol. 1. Because how can there be just ONE!

Fine , lets see then, Personal Poe Collection Compiled by EliseDee and Cavaet. Or would you prefer, Personal Collection of Poe Stories and Poems compiled by EliseDee and Cavaet.

Alter it as you see fit Tricia

Or Maybe, Ten Tales of Horror from Edgar Allan Poe, compiled by EliseDee and Cavaet. Hmm I can live with that last one

I think I like "Personal Poe Collection Compiled by EliseDee and Cavaet" - shortest and descriptive. In the intro, you can say "Section [number] of Personal Poe Collection" and leave it at that.

Hooray! Excited to take on this project. (I think. This is so far from my usual reading!)

Cav -- Will start getting sections done and uploaded for your PL. Also, yes, you're right -- I've got some ideas about the cover already, so will claim that too. :)

Tricia -- Thank you for taking on another project!

Great! I'll work on doing PLs next week since I've got vacation time scheduled. Will get notes (if I have any) to you ASAP! Also will get my files finalized and uploaded too.

Thanks!
