Shasta wrote: January 27th, 2021, 3:21 pm Well, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!!!!! I was very depressed when appeared that I had to re-record those two chapters. Thank you.
There you go, a super easy edit, since you had little pauses before and after the phrase. I grabbed "of Christmas stories" from a couple paragraphs further into the story and dropped it where "of Christmas Carols" was.
Chapter overall volume: 89.3 dB
Chapter length: 27:06
PL OK

Good luck with the disk!

I see Phil is just going to OK it as is. I have a copy of 33 on my local disk. If it's OK with you and Phil, I'll see if I can grab you reading 'stories' somewhere in the chapter and replace 'carols' and replace the file with that. Phil, OK? Shasta, OK?
Certainly Rich.

Thank you very much Rich! I will PL
Progress report - just a few final bits of editing left - I'll take out the parts where my voice creaks and croaks the worst before I send it in.

Phil has no cable or wi-fi at the moment, due to the storm and freezing temperatures we are enduring. He asked me to let you know he'll check in when he's back online.

Hi Phil. My mic preamp was adding a whole lot of low frequency noise into my recording. After a full computer power cycle it's better. Whew!

I think I have my base track for chapter 21 in the can. Editing will tell me if I'm still missing something.

Lovely or not, here it comes:
https://librivox.org/uploads/philchenevert/childrensbookofchristmasstories_21_dickinson_128kb.mp3 - length 18:13

This chapter is chock full of antique words. I looked up 'ukase' and got the option of 4 different pronunciations (and took the average).

Excellent. We use a ukase but it is a tin one. 8-)
