Ok I think I fixed everything. Can you please review and check?

Hi,

I am guessing you re-recorded, correct? :-)

Much better, but there are a few things to fix.

First, the volume is better, but still on the low side. If you can get it up at least 5 more DB, that would be great
Also, the bit rate is incorrect, and the file is in stereo instead of mono. Since you had those correct the first time, I am guessing you know how to fix those. If not, let me know!

Onto the recording. :-)

First the intro is not correct.

It should be exactly this:
"Chapter 33 of During the Persecution: Autobiography of Father John Gerard. This is a LibriVox recording. All LibriVox recordings are in the public domain. For more information, or to volunteer, please visit: librivox DOT org"

"During the Persecution: Autobiography of Father John Gerard, by Father John Gerard. Translated by G. R. Kingdon Chapter 33"
Then at the very beginning it is missing the entire first paragraph. You start off with the beginning of the second.

And at 1:08 there are several sentences missing. Starting with "This lady came.... and ending with for her general confession" You started back up at "I found that she had never....."

You can record the missing parts separately, and just copy and paste them into the main file.

Can you try again? I checked, and it did not upload. Make sure that it is an mp3 file. That could cause the error if it is the wrong file format.

Hi,

I was listening to them in the order that they came in, and I had to be away from the computer for a few hours before I was able to get to yours. :-)

I have checked it now. The recording itself is now correct.

However, the volume is still to low, and the bit rate is 68kbps and variable and we need it to be 128kbs and constant.

If you are using Audacity, here is a short video on how to set up the tech specs that we need: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l00VDvGTieg&feature=youtu.be
And a couple on amplifying:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_z607awyLw
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJ3lOTDsN6c

And for good measure, a link to all our instructional videos: https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Instructional_Videos

If you could try to get the volume up a bit more and fix the bit rate, that would be great! :-0

I made all the changes but cannot change the volume, @Maria. When I do, the option to save is blank and it won't let me save it.

**EDIT**

NM the only way I could amplify it was to allow clipping. Should be OK now can you verify?!

Well, we have no way officially of verifying volunteer hours, etc. However, you could direct him to the Reader's Details part of your catalog page, which you can find here: https://librivox.org/sections/readers/15345

The section you recorded is listed under the PL OK! column.

I hope this helps!
