I think I fixed the first 2 problems but I don't know if the volume is better, please let me know. So here is my second attempt: https://librivox.org/uploads/tests/test_shyasia.mp3
Thanks Shy. You have indeed fixed t he first two and your tech specs are right on the button. Your volume is indeed increased and is just a little bit too loud now. But I am giving you t he big OK to record with the advice to back off a little bit in volume by moving an inch or two away from the microphone or decreasing the gain. Here is a video on our Checker program that will tell you exactly what y our volume is. https://youtu.be/QKVOYsaDoRo This is what we use mostly.  So start recording Shy

Hi Dragonfly. Welcome to LibriVox and to t his project. I have assigned sections 27 and 28 to you but before you record it, please make and upload a 1 minute test to be sure your recording set up is OK. Instructions can be found in our Wiki and in the first post of this project but Here is a video that may help too: How to Make your 1 minute test.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BlaRY_-bcfs and then How to Upload your 1 minute test How to Upload your 1 minute test

(You may post the link to your test in this forum and I will see it much more quickly)

I also recommend Getting To Know our Forums Getting To Know Our Forums

We just want to check out your technical specs. Don't forget to post the link either in this thread or in Listeners WAnted forum. And how would you like to be credited in our catalog? What name? most of us use our real name but it is up to you.

Hi,
I would like to read Chapters 33, 35 and 41 please.
Thanks,
Hi Ritu. I am assigning those 3 chapters to you but before you record them I would like you to do a test recording for me to check your volume level. Just a sentence or two and then save it as "test 1", upload it and put the link here in this thread so I can see it quickly. Can you do that for me? To increase volume it is best to use the gain control inside of Audacity and move closer to the microphone. We can work this out if you will do that for me. What program do you use to record with? Thanks and welcome to this project.
Hi Phil,

Here is the test link:

Thanks,
Ritu

Hi Phil,

Here is the test link:

https://librivox.org/uploads/philchenevert/test1.mp3
Thanks,
Ritu
Thank you Ritu. Your technical specs are fine but your volume is too low. We aim at around 89 dB and your recording is at 79.9 dB. The solution is easy, just raise the gain going into your recording software. If Audacity there is a slider bar with a little microphone in front of it; move that to the right. You can also move a bit closer to the microphone and that raises the input volume. I recommend that you download our program the Checker program that will give you your exact volume https://youtu.be/QKVOYsaDoRo. So please increase the volume to around 89 dB, make another test call it TEST 2 or something upload and put the link in this thread. I'll check it out quickly and get you recording.
