Ritu wrote: October 6th, 2020, 11:08 pm Hi,
I would like to read Chapters 33, 35 and 41 please.
Thanks,
Hi Ritu. I am assigning those 3 chapters to you but before you record them I would like you to do a test recording for me to check your volume level. Just a sentence or two and then save it as "test 1", upload it and put the link here in this thread so I can see it quickly. Can you do that for me? To increase volume it is best to use the gain control inside of Audacity and move closer to the microphone. We can work this out if you will do that for me. What program do you use to record with? Thanks and welcome to this project.
Hi Phil,

Here is the test link:

Hi Phil,
I am awaiting your "go ahead" for recording based on your feedback for my test link as sent above.
Thanks,
Ritu

Hi Ritu. Your technical specs are good but your volume is low. We aim at around 89 decibels (86 - 92) and your test is at 79.9 decibels. Here is a program we use to check volume of MP3 files, the Checker https://youtu.be/QKVOYsaDoRo

So, please increase your volume to around 89 dB, make a second test, a bit longer this time please, name it TEST 2, upload and put the link in this thread.

PL notes:
  • Each chapter should have no more than 1 second of silence at the start and 5 seconds at the end
  • There's no need to say "end of the book of nature myths" etc. - that's only for the final chapter of the book
Please make these changes, re-upload, and post back here when you're done :)

Hi Phil,
For some reason, the Checker program shows me an "Error", saying that "file access is denied". So I am not able to use the Checker program. I just went ahead and recorded Chapter 33. Request you to consider this as test. If it does not meet the specifications, I will do it again. But I do hope the volume is okay in this one. Here is the link for Chapter 33:

Length: 4:44

I am looking forward to your feedback.

PL notes: both chapters are little over the limit of 92 dB. Please deamplify by about -2 dB and re-upload :)
