PL note for Ch 25:

The volume is too low at 79.5 dB. Could you amplify it to within the range of 86-92 dB and re-upload?

Thanks for your note. This is my first recording.

I amplified both Chap24 & 25 by 10db so hopefully they good now. Both are uploaded again.

Is there a Audacity (version2.4.2) menu option that tells me the volume is now in the range of 86-92? Thanks.

It looks like both of these are still too quiet. Chapter 24 comes in at 84.1 dB, and Chapter 25 is only 83.4 dB.

I have never used it before, but there is a plug-in for Audacity that will tell you how much to amplify your recordings, or how far off you are from the target range. It's called ReplayGain. Alternatively, you can use the Checker program to check the volume of audio files. It's free, easy-to-use, and can be downloaded here: https://www.cgjennings.ca/projects/checker/

I listened to the revised version of Chapter 19 (run time 17:42) read by Simona Perego (sperego). The ending silent space is 3 seconds (less than 5 seconds), following "End of Chapter 19". Otherwise, I would say it is ready to be marked as "PL OK".
