thank you, Jim
what fun they had in this parade, I can vividly picture it with all the decorated waggons. Great section and PL ok again, Rita, and we are now officially past the middle of the projectRitaBoutros wrote: ↑October 7th, 2020, 6:49 amSec 20:
I'm happy you liked your choices again this time. They were really interesting, I like to see how ordinary life was for people in old times.ColleenMc wrote: ↑October 7th, 2020, 7:18 amMy last two sections:

oh wow yes, this was an interesting section. I loved hearing about all the incidents where the telephone was put to good use. Sad about the heroic girl who died in the flood and I got moist hands just by thinking of this skyscraper builder sitting high up in the air with a telephone in his handPiotrek81 wrote: ↑October 8th, 2020, 2:46 amHere's something relatively modern, for a change... the wonders of the telephone!

my first thought was that the lengths don't match with cutting out the long intro, some seem even longer now, which should not be Just to make sure, you did NOT re-record from scratch, right ? I need to know, because otherwise I have to listen to the entire file once more, instead of just Spot PLing. Please let me know to make sure
For the other two sections, I still have some notes:
> from 0:16-0:20: between "painting p. 148" and "the difficulties" – 4 seconds of silence feels way too long for a listener, it's always best to keep under 2 seconds, otherwise it sounds a bit dragged out artificially. Could you cut this to 1-1.5 seconds rather ? In the last file you didn't have such a long interval at this point. Maybe that is the reason why the file was longer than before
> at 0:15: "painting p. 390" – you say "360"
puts one in a celebration mood thank you for a perfectly narrated chapter again, Rita. PL ok.RitaBoutros wrote: ↑October 8th, 2020, 6:53 amSection 021: https://librivox.org/uploads/kitty/worldstory_volume13_021_tappan_128k.mp3
brilliant rendering, Alan, I love this song so much, and there are so many versions/texts that go on this tune.alanmapstone wrote: ↑October 8th, 2020, 9:32 amSection 68 - Battle Hymn
I had to adapt the traditional tune a bit as this version does not contain the usual chorus "Glory! Glory! Hallelujah"
not so much fun for those who vomited away their headaches in the thin air on that ascent difficult explorations those were. Ever traipsed there yourself ? I personally am not much of a mountain person but I can appreciate the awe-inspiring grandeur from afar.mightyfelix wrote: ↑October 8th, 2020, 9:14 pmThis one was fun! https://librivox.org/uploads/kitty/worldstory_volume13_048_tappan_128kb.mp3

Just careful with the filename, you missed the final 'b' in "128kb" no need to reupload though, I'll change it in the folder.
