    1. How to claim a part, and "how it all works" here To find a section to record, simply look at point 5. below at the sections. All the ones without names beside them are "up for grabs." Click "Post reply" at the top left of the screen and tell us which section you would like to read (include the section number from the left-most column in the reader list, please). Read points 6. to 8. below for what to do before, during and after your recording.
    2. New to recording? Please read our Newbie Guide to Recording!
    3. Is there a deadline? We ask that you submit your recorded sections within 1-2 months of placing your claim. Please note that to be fair to the readers who have completed their sections in a timely way, if you haven't submitted your recording(s) after two months, your sections will automatically be re-opened for other readers to claim, unless you post in this thread to request an extension. Extensions will be granted at the discretion of the Book Coordinator. If you cannot do your section, for whatever reason, just let me know and it'll go back to the pool. There's no shame in this; we're all volunteers and things happen. Please do not sign up for more sections than you can complete within the two month deadline.
    4. Where do I find the text? Source text (please only read from this text!): https://archive.org/details/selectedpoemsfro00michrich/page/n5/mode/2up
    5. Please claim sections (the numbers in the first column below)! If this is your first recording, please let me know under which name or pseudonym you'd like to appear in the LibriVox catalogue. We can also link to a personal website/blog.

Prospective Prooflisteners: Please read the Listeners Wanted FAQ before listening! Level of prooflistening requested: standard

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

I may have made a mess of the first post. The principal author, of course, is Michelangelo, but there is an editor who published the book and who borrowed from a good number of translators.

Additionally, we are working on this as a trio and will record both English and Italian. I have made enough sections for both language versions and will edit them into their appropriate sections so that the listener will hear both languages in one section.

Being able to use the shorter disclaimer would be helpful but not necessary.

Hello-- I'll be part of the trio.

The poems are short or very short, so I think something like the short poetry format could be a good fit for this:

"[Title] by Michelangelo Buonarroti" (where Title has format GENRE NUMBER, as in "Madrigal 24", like in the TOC)
[Original poem]
Translation by [Translator's name]
[Translated poem]
End of poem.
This Librivox recording is in the public domain.

We can use the full intro for the introduction. There's just one longer poem at the very end.

I'll MC this.

Does Eysiss have a forum presence yet? I don't see such a name on the DPL list (yet).

I put the suggested wording for the 2nd and following sections into the first post. The indenting/listing isn't formatted correctly, but at least it's there. Feel free to modify it as desired.

If it matters, we could go to: selectedpoemsmichelangelo_##_buonarroti_128k or even poemsmichelangelo_##_buonarroti_128k.

Or just selectedpoems_###_buonarroti_128kb.

(Errr, 3 digits to the file name, since you have more than 99.)

That's even better!

I'm not sure how many sections will remain once the project is completed. At present there are two sections for each poem but they will be combined into one section for the Italian and English versions.

May Kazbek have access to the MW also? He will handle the Italian submissions and titling.

Kazbek's now in as co-BC.

Since there will be more than one introductory section, it doesn't make sense to label one of them as section zero, so I've made the project start with number 1.
