Good point!

I wanted to join in on this one because I was intrigued by the reference to Gravesend. It's just down the road from us. The town is pretty run down but has little pockets of interesting history, including a statue of Princess Pocahontas. Apparently it was her last resting place. There are a few interesting alleys and buildings which have an essence of it's riverside past but much is lost. It's nice to glimpse a little of the past through fiction...even super wordy fiction! I'm going to listen to the full book now. Thank you for letting me join in.

PL Notes for Chapter 29:

At 20:02 “I just have a warrant” should be “I have a just warrant”

At 25:14 “He was, in effect, almost indifferent whether she accepted or rejected his proffered assistance. If she accepted it, he was determined that it should be clogged with a condition expressly stated, that he was for the future to be received with greater favour. If she refused, and he scarcely doubted that she would, he had only to make the signal, and she would be hurried, unresisting, to destruction. Yet, recollecting the despair, the distraction, with which she would too late discover her misfortune; the bitter upbraidings with which she would meet her betrayer; the frantic anguish with which she would mourn her disgrace,” ...Is repeated starting at 25:49.

This repeat is understandable when a person has to stop partway through a recording then start it again later. It's easy to loose your place in a chapter this long. (I've done that myself.) As far as the difference in sound goes, it's minor and moves along very nicely.

At 36:24 “You shall dearly pay for this obstinacy, said he…” Need to add “and fiercely strode away.” :)
“Reading one book is like eating one potato chip.”

Thanks Maryin,

I've got another job on for a few nights but I should be able to tweak it this weekend. Appreciate the spare ears!

PL Notes for Chapter 30:

At 9:48 “vagarities” should be “VAGARIES”
At 17:00 “you were always kind to me” should be “you were always kind to HER”
At 29:30 “continued to express the warmest detestation” the word “detestation” is cut off.
At 43:28 “Is it you sir’ should be “Is it TO you sir”
At 53:29 “too valiant” should be “too VIGILANT” :)

Running time 50:29.79

I'm on Adobe Audition for the next time I record. No turning back now. It's brilliant.
