Thank you for your interest in this project.MadronaNarration wrote: ↑March 21st, 2021, 10:53 am Hello, I would like to claim section 13, First Visit to England.
I'm a bit reluctant to assign this to you, because it is a fairly long section to take on for your first recording, unless you already an experienced recorder. I strongly urge new people to record a few shorter sections to get a feel for what is involved in recording and editing. For a section of this length, the total work time is likely to be 3-4 hours. And, we are hoping to get this project completed before the end of the month, so we're looking for a faster turn around on this last remaining sections than the usual 2 months.
So, let me know what you think.
We also need to know exactly how you would like to be listed in the LibriVox catalog -- real name, pseudonym or any nickname you wish. This is how you will be credited for all of your LV work.

And, I've put you in for 14.
We'll have to see what our new reader says.
(Been down that road before . . . )
I've sent PMs to two other readers that we're waiting on, but eventually we'll get this done.
Thanks so much for your help.

There is a possibility that we may need to orphan some sections, so stay tuned if you're interested.
I really appreciate your excellent contributions to this project.

Thank you for your message. I appreciate your concerns so I will decline this chapter. Could you please recommend where I could find some shorter works to record so that I may get some experience? Any suggestions would be much appreciated!silverquill wrote: ↑March 21st, 2021, 8:59 pmThank you for your interest in this project.MadronaNarration wrote: ↑March 21st, 2021, 10:53 am Hello, I would like to claim section 13, First Visit to England.

Well, you come at an interesting time, near the end of a month-long emphasis we have to finish up older projects, along with a hiatus on posting new projects, so there is less to chose from at the moment. I myself have 14 projects that are fully subscribed, just waiting for the last few readers to complete their recordings or corrections. In a little over a week I will be launching several that have short sections that are good for new readers.MadronaNarration wrote: ↑March 24th, 2021, 9:35 am

You might try one of our ongoing poetry projects, just to get a taste. There is a weekly poem and fortnightly poem. Then there is always a monthly poetry collection where you choose your own poems to read.
viewforum.php?f=2 is the link to the main Readers Wanted Forum. I see that most of the projects in the Short Works section are mostly collections where readers chose their own, and a few projects that are full, or almost full. In the books section, you can find a few that have some shorter sections. Most, but not all, include word counts. I would suggest something in the 1,000 - 2,000 range.
(I'll see if I can send you the links to the poetry projects via Private Message)
And, you can check back here in case we have abandoned sections that you might like.
I'll go ahead and add you to the catalog.
I hope to see you on one of my projects in the future!
All the best,
Larry
