Here's the file for section 17. It's 17:37 long. I hope it's ok. This is the first thing I recorded (after my one minute test).

Thank you! Our proof-listener, Rita, will be around soon to give you some feedback!MysticHaze wrote: ↑September 28th, 2020, 3:33 pm https://librivox.org/uploads/leni/livinganimals2_17_various_128kb.mp3

Very admirable job considering it's your first! Well done.MysticHaze wrote: ↑September 28th, 2020, 3:33 pm https://librivox.org/uploads/leni/livinganimals2_17_various_128kb.mp3

We have a couple of notes on this chapter, and I've included some tips on editing (below) in case you need them.
:22 Please change to "chapter 16". The section is 17 and you would naturally assume the chapter is also 17, but it's not. It's confusing because earlier in the book, 2 sections were devoted to a very long chapter so it threw everything off
2:14 "400,000 to 20,000" here, the hyphen between those 2 numbers merely indicates that you should pause: Please delete "to"
12:44 "minute" should be like the miniature, not like the clock
14:48 "have particularly modified" should be "peculiarly modified"
Editing in Audacity:
It is preferable that you not re-record the entire file again, but merely do spot edits to make corrections. Listening to a whole file again is very time consuming for the checker and not really necessary.
Deleting something in Audacity is very easy: Just highlight the section and use Control + x
Adding something is likewise easy. You're basically doing a copy and paste:
Highlight the section where you want to add or replace. Use Control + n to open a new window.
Record the new text in the new window and then copy it (Control + c). Close the new window without saving.
Return to your original window and click at the top in a neutral spot. Use Control + v and your new text will appear in the spot you had highlighted previously.

I fixed them. I tried to make it sound seamless but it was hard, especially at the 14:48 spot.
