Thank you, Devorah!

Here's the link to the text: https://www.gutenberg.org/files/3080/3080-h/3080-h.htm#link2H_4_0012

I came across it in high school (many many years ago) and thereafter, I have watched that tale unfold over and over in my head - in crisp tones of colour and verve - and oh what a story it is! :D

Always,
Garfield
Stories like that--that stick in your head and work their way into your psyche--are very special! :D I won't read it now, but you can bet I'll be listening to your reading of it!

I'll admit, it seems strange to me to use a letter that only appears in the Latin title, when you're reading it in English. :hmm: If "I" was still available, I'd suggest to use it there. But I guess we can go ahead and use it. I'll put the Latin title in as the section title, or else it doesn't make sense. (And to use both English and Latin there would be far too long!)

I would like to claim "J" and read the article about Jesus Christ in Islamic tradition from A Dictionary of Islam by Thomas Patrick Hughes. It's 6,140 words. Here's the link to the text: https://www.gutenberg.org/files/61526/61526-h/61526-h.htm.

I just re-read the contribution I was going to make from "J", and I think I'd rather retract that. It started out well, but becomes increasingly anti-Islamic—almost rabidly so. I don't think I'd feel good being associated with a recording of that.

Understood. You're free to search for another selection that would fit the letter, if you like. I'm happy to give you time enough to do so. Or I can take you off entirely, if you prefer.

I just realized my section is kind of long (8647 words to be exact, copied it over form Gutenburg to Word). Is it too long to record for this?
If it isn't, I would still be happy to record it for this collection but wanted to check first?
If it is, where would the best place to record a long short story be?

It should be ok. I'd expect that to come out to around an hour, which is still under our limit for one section. If for some reason it comes in at over 70 minutes, we might have a problem, and we can't split sections in this project. But I'd say go ahead and record it, and if it comes out too long, we can find it a home in another collection. The Short Story Collection usually allows splitting a story in two if necessary, if I'm not mistaken.
