Hi there,

May I claim section one please?

I love words, where they came from and how to use them, and I lived in England (Southeast: London, Ipswich, Croyden, Broadstairs, to name a few) in another life, so this work, and this section in particular, just calls to me.

Thanks,

Wayne

P.S. Sometimes, even in the middle of a Solo project, I just need a short break.

Hello Wayne,
I really liked your recording – you have a nice deep voice :) There are only two spots that should be corrected:
At 5:42, the text says "examining some common English words" – the word common is a bit mispronounced (or maybe it was a correction that was cut too far)
At 10:27, the text says "Englishmen are vey proud of the..." but I hear "Englishmen who are very proud"

And when I opened your recording in Audacity and looked at the visual aspect of it, I thought you might want to apply the noise cleaning. But although some noise is there, I wouldn't say it's disturbing at all. The cleaning could make the recording a bit clearer but I leave it up to you whether you want to apply it or not :D

Thanks!
Kudrna

Thank you for the corrections, Wayne, both of the spots are now PL OK :) However, for some reason, the silence at the end of the recording is now more than six and half second; could you please cut it to five seconds?

Thanks,
Kudrna

Well, here is the corrected file:

https://librivox.org/uploads/leni/storiesthatwordstellus_01_oneill_128kb.mp3

And the time is 'still' 22:23. :?: :?: :?:

Neither do I, hard to say how it could happen; but the good news is that now it's completely PL OK

Thanks for your work, Wayne and Kudrna! It struck me as odd that shortening the pause would leave the duration unchanged, so I opened the file and saw 22:31 instead of 22:23. What are you seeing? I just want to make sure Wayne's software isn't playing tricks on us and changing other aspects of the recording while we aren't looking. :)

ETA: hopefully, Wayne meant to type "22:32" instead of "22:23", and since the estimates of mp3 duration may vary by a second or so, depending on where you look at it, this would be consistent with a second of silence being removed, and so it would all make sense. :)

At first I was a bit confused, too.. But when I download the file, it shows 22:31 and when I open it in browser, it's 22:32 (maybe it's rounding it up or something). I guess that Wayne just made a typo, it can happen very easily.
