Oh bollox. I forgot to cut the bit at the end.
I'll try to get it to you tomorrow!
Sorry about that.
Thanks, no problem. When you're BC, sometimes it's nice to be useful for something besides copy and paste. :)

Here come reuploads of sections 31 (26:09) and 32 (35:00). I ran them through Checker, so the levels should be alright.

Since I had to open the mp3 to capture the new duration, I went ahead and did spot PL myself. It's PL OK, and thanks again for your contribution!

Micahel, I finally finished recording Section 60 but have to start on the editing now. I must say, I'm so embarrassed by my French pronunciations. In the editing, I'm going to try to clean them up, so this may take a bit longer. And it's not just the French. (Bignè, for instance, is Italian, but I think it was taken by a French family as a surname. And the text doesn't use the accent. Auugh.)
Sunday is a good PL day for me.

Thanks for the note, Kevin. I'm delighted that the section is coming along. I could tell you not to worry about pronunciation too much and invite you to send me a PM if you need any help, but it sounds like you got this under control. :)

Sorry for the slow turnaround on this one. Here's section 44 (37:48).

I didn't figure out how to check my dB level in Audacity, but I think the waveform looks alright here. I have a feeling I'll need to do some of it again. :|

Section 44 PL notes:
So glad I got to PL another one of your sections; your voice is perfect for this book. The waveform looks OK in Audacity and the volume is within range. The only issue is that 5 full seconds of silence needed at end of file (currently <1 second). Please edit and re-upload using the same filename. Include the new duration of the file in your post, and I will spot check to make sure that the file is OK. Thanks so much.

Beautifully done, Jennifer! Such a pleasure to listen; I'm surprised we haven't run into each other before somewhere on the forums.

Section 34 and 43 PL notes:
-Both sections are too quiet at 86.7 dB. We aim for 89 dB, with an acceptable range of 87-91 dB. To adjust the volume in Audacity, select the whole recording. Click Effect > Amplify. In the Amplification box, enter the number +2.3 dB. Verify that the file is around 89 dB using Checker, a program that checks technical specifications using LibriVox standards. (Technically, these files will "pass" using Checker, but go to the "Information" tab to see the exact dB level of the file. I am more strict on the volume range with group projects than with solo projects, as it is important that the volume is consistent between readers.)
-Both filenames are incorrect. Section 34 should be "cambridgemodernhistory_34_128kb.mp3" (currently "kb" reads "kp"). Section 43 should be "cambridgemodernhistory_43_128kb" (currently "kb" after "128" is missing).
-Section 34 has too much silence at the beginning of the file. Less than 0.5-1 second of silence is acceptable. Currently, there are 2.5 seconds of silence.

Edit and re-upload! :)

Thanks, Lisa! Section 28 is PL OK. (Section 40 is, too, noted above.)
