I would like to claim section

16 I give my Heart to Thee by Standish O' Grady

I am new to Librivox and if approved this will be my first recording.

My Librivox name is Dan Hixson

Thank you in advance. If this section is not assigned to me, I would like to select another.
Welcome to Librivox!

As this is your first recording, we have to set up your reader page and you can choose how you would like to be represented in the catalog - it can be your real name or your forum name, or anything else. Please let me know this.
Meanwhile, Section 16 is yours!

Kristine

Hi Larry,
This one is also missing the book title in the intro and the name/author in the ending.

Doug,
This is such a lovely poem I couldn't resist listening to it all again instead of a spot check.

The corrections are PL ok however this version is at 192kbps instead of the needed 128 kbps. If you are using Audacity this is part of the export settings. Please let me know if you have any questions in making the change.

https://librivox.org/uploads/kikisaulite/irishpoetrypart2_049_graves_128kb.mp3 (4 mins, 4 secs)

Feedback appreciated.

I'm not very familiar with checking the decibel levels, so please let me know if the recording needs to be adjusted to meet requirements.

Cheers,

Aiken
Aiken,
I don't see that you ever did a preliminary test so I don't know what software you are using. There are a few corrections to make to the specifications. The reading itself was great and very enjoyable.

The volume is too low at 85.6dB. Please amplify by 4.

Please trim ending silence to 5 seconds.

The bit rate should be 128 kbps and constant rather than variable.

We have a simple little program you can use if interested to check your volume and other specifications. viewtopic.php?f=21&t=36489

Kristine,
Just a couple of edits to do.

0:38 stumble – There’s an acre of potatoes in the pit, Norah dear! Troth, I’ve turf enough to light me to flame;

Ending silence needs to be extended to 5 seconds.

Prior to uploading please correct the section number. It should be 053.

Hi Larry,
The endings are missing the poem name and author. Also, the volume on section 118 is too low at 85.8dB.

"End of [Poem Title by Author]. This recording is in the public domain."
Please toggle sections 108 and 118 to "see pl notes"
