Hello,
I'm afraid I couldn't get 37 done in time, so I will have to let go. Thank you for waiting for me.

hi clare, hi kim,

not uploaded yet are sections 10, 18, 19 (and kevin's 37, but he is the dpl and writes/updates in this thread often).

are you interested in reading these sections, still?

thank you for your feedback,
cheers,

I would like to read section 19 if it is still available.

Hi,

I had a couple of pronunciation questions.

1. In Chapter 10, Presentations at court..., they give an address with the abbreviation S.W.:
“should send in their names and the names of those to be presented by them to the Lord Chamberlain, St. James's Palace, S.W., on the 1st of January in each year, but not before that date.”
I was wondering how I should read the abbreviation. I assume it stands for “South west.” Should I say that? Or say the initials/letters themselves? What would you like?

Thanks,
Kim
If I may step in (used to live in London), I would say the letters S.W. rather than 'southwest'. It stands for a previous postcode in London and to say 'southwest' would sound odd to any English listeners. Any such abbreviations as part of a London address, I'd say the letters only.
Thank you so much for the insight!!!! I had no idea. I will go with S.W. spoken as letters.

Cheers,
Kim

Good Sir,

I call again upon our familiarity and offer my services for the reading of chapters: 18 (Wedding Expenses), 43 (Engaged), and 46 (Giving Presents). If the proffered meets with your approval, I will commence the recordings posthaste!

Your devoted servant,
Kim

You're in. (schrm is probably asleep by now so I'll update the MW.)
