Nice reading, thank you. Section 6 is PL OK but the end 'silence' is a bit stingy. Could you please leave a full 5 secs at the end of each reading?

It's a bit light on at 4.6 odd - better if it's the full 5 secs. Kind of right on the line, do I ask for it to be fixed/not. Sorry, not much help am I?

I'm having a good time with this book. Can continue to section 13, if open.

Section 6 (15:18) redone.

Thanks for stepping in and clarifying your wishes here Leni. I hoped you would. I've had a couple of BC's say when I've pulled readers up for similar that 4.6 is 'close enough' whereas I think a full 5 secs should be that. If I kknew a bit more about compiling all the sections I guess it would be clearer, but a full 5 secs here it definitely will be.

Lovely, Mark. Thanks for doing that. 7 was perfect for end silence already.MFD32 wrote: ↑May 25th, 2020, 1:38 pm Section 6 (15:18) redone.

Thank you very much for this. Apologies it has taken me a little while to be able to PL it.Xctops wrote: ↑May 18th, 2020, 1:21 pm Here is Section 3 first upload: https://librivox.org/uploads/leni/stratagemsaqueducts_03_frontinus_128kb.mp3

It is very nicely read, at a good pace. I enjoyed listening to you read.
I only have one small issue:
~ 4:00 something odd happens to the word 'at' in the phrase 'sunk at the point', so I had to replay it several times to catch the meaning.

Thanks, Jane and Mark, for your help here. In Librivox, we do have this modus operandi in which sometimes things are left to the BC's discretion, which is good, I think, within limits. So I do understand why some people are less picky with the beginning and end silence, but I prefer to have the full time, just to be on the safe side. The reason we leave this silence at the end is because once we had problems with some players/programs cutting out the end. Actually, until a few years ago, we used to leave 10 seconds for files over 30min. Of course, as technology changed, this started being less and less a problem, but still... doesn't hurt to have that little extra there. Sorry for being picky, and thanks for your patience.

I am very happy if you want to take all of those! It's not like there aren't other readers already involved in the project. Thanks much!

Thanks Mark. Nicely read again, but just 2 things requiring attention.MFD32 wrote: ↑May 21st, 2020, 3:31 pm Ready to go:

Section 10 (15:26)

Can take section 12.

0:25s At the beginning, the proper title of this section is The Strategems, Book II, part IV), and not (as read) 'The Aqueducts...' (There's also a Book II, part IV in the Aqueducts, which would make for confusion)
Your end silence is rather too long at almost 8 secs. Could you cut it down and make it 5 secs instead, please? A bit over is fine, but nearly 8 is not.
I'll PL your other section in the next couple of days.
