two huge chapters  you've been busy. Sorry for replying so late, but I had a huge backlog as well and decided to do them in alphabetical order  so Shirley was far down the list.

Both chapters totally PL ok. I loved the many character descriptions in these chapters. So many people introduced, I wonder whether they all will stay important till the end. :hmm:

Thank you !

I know (I was just looking around this morning randomly and casually and I saw that you are everywhere, especially in the theater department), so I have no expectations. I want us to take it as it comes without pressure, please. And thanks. 8-)

ah the protagonist makes her appearance. Yes she seems a fresh breath of air which is a nice counterpart to morose Caroline  I think those two will become friends and then maybe rivals in love for Moore.

Interesting that Shirley used to be a male name, I only ever knew it as a female name. Maybe Charlotte Brontë helped promote that name for girls after the novel was out.

PL ok, another well-narrated chapter. Thank you, Jim !

another PL ok section... yes, Moore is being mentioned a bit too often by Shirley  she has a soft spot for him ;) and I wonder what Miss Pryor's secret is, because there is bound to be one.

Thank you, Jim !

 since when is the new chapter 13 already ready in the MW ? I only just now saw it by chance. Please, always make a note when you upload a new section, only then I get alerted and I don't need to be on the lookout all the time myself. It would quieten my spirits more if I could rely on your note.

This chapter is quite interesting. Robert seems to be flirting with both girls now. Not sure whether I like this character trait of his. :? I hope they are doing the trip to the Faroer Islands. Fond memories, I have spent one day in Thorshavn on a cruise trip in the North Sea. :9: It was exciting and quite scary to me to be surrounded by so much sea. I am a land-person through and through, I think.

PL ok, thank you

Oh, sorry. I always inform of a new entry, except when I forget to do it. I understand fully that you can't play hide and seek and maintain sanity at the same time. As for the drama we are experiencing in our novel, yeah, it is weird, except that he seems to have different kinds of attraction: dazzled by Shirley, but comforted by Caroline. And finally, I do not think I could even get on a ship bound for the northern seas. I had a panic attack trying to drive in the Rockies while visiting the son who lives in Colorado. He had to take over. Thanks for the listen. :)

not so much water in the Rockies though ;) but yes, it's the same principle I guess. I also had a creepy "threatening" feeling when I drove through the Dolomites in Italy. Too many looming mountains. It is comparable. Though I think I find mountains less threatening than a huge body of water. At least I am on terra firma.
