Hey, I was wondering if I would be able to do section 73? I recorded it in advance, just to be safe.

This was my first recording, so let me know if I need to change anything! If possible, please put my name as Stefan D'Souza.
I'm a little worried, since I wasn't sure if I recorded right, cause I couldn't find the sample rate setting, and was unsure what to put for metadata. I looked at some of the other ones and read the Poem Name followed by the author (Were You on the Mountain, by Douglas Hyde), but I can change this if needed. Thanks!

Hey Stefan! Thanks for the contribution to the project. It’s best in the future if you claim the section before recording so no one accidentally does the same section as someone else. Also, don’t worry about the metadata - it gets added in the cataloging process. I just forgot to delete the instructions for metadata from the first post. Patty will be along in a while to PL this.

I am sorry to spoil the fun, but section 73 is technically not OK. The bitrate should be 128 kbps and it should be set as a constant bit rate rather than a variable. This must be observed for all Librivox recordings, as other formats will not be accepted by catalog software.
Please, Stefan, correct the bitrate and re-upload the section.
Also, while you are at it, please add one extra zero to the file name - it should read .....irishpoetrypart1_073_graves.mp3

Technical specification is all good now, the reading itself was already checked - so I am returning the PL OK marking.

EDIT: oh, you forgot the "128kbp" part in the file name, but let it be as is this time - I can easily add that when we get to catalog this project. Just note for the future to include that.

Good to hear, because everything I know I learned on YouTube! My technical setup is just a little $100 portable recorder, Audacity, and a quiet room.

Thank you! I just noticed that 63, 64 and 54 as well are missing the _graves_ between the section # and 128kb. It’s not a super big deal and I don’t think you have to reupload those files (since I think Kikisaulite can change their names in the cataloging process but it’s more work for her), but going forward it would be best if you remembered to include _graves_ in the file name
