Ruth, I have only just discovered that I made a mistake and have (stupidly) recorded this section thinking it was one of the 2 I claimed.
Am just wondering, if you haven't recorded it already, could I swap it with you? Or, as there is still a section unassigned, would you be averse to taking that one instead? Quite understand of course if you say no or have already done it. Silly of me.
Could section 23 be reassigned to me in the MW please?
I PM'd Ruth as well, and got this PM response: "Hi Jane, that's alright, I haven't recorded the section yet and have been quite busy lately so I wouldn't have gotten around to doing it for a while anyway. You can just take it, I don't need to switch or claim the open one. Thanks for letting me know!"

Lovely readings! :9:

Section 12
Missing part of the intro: "Chapter 7 Part 1 of The Sea: Its Stirring Story of Adventure, Peril, & Heroism. Volume 1. This is a LibriVox recording. All LibriVox recordings are in the public domain. For more information, or to volunteer, please visit: librivox DOT org"
If you wish, say: "Recording by [your name], [city, your blog, podcast, web address]"
Say:
"The Sea: Its Stirring Story of Adventure, Peril, & Heroism. Volume 1, by Frederick Whymper. Chapter VII, Round the World on a Man-of-War continued, Malta and the Suez Canal, Part 1"

Section 13
Missing part of the intro: "Chapter 7 Part 2 of The Sea: Its Stirring Story of Adventure, Peril, & Heroism.
Chapter VII, Round the World on a Man-of-War continued, Malta and the Suez Canal, Part 2"
So for whatever reason the forums decided to stop sending me email notifications. I am so sorry for having missed all of this for so long. I'll get these fixed as soon as possible and posted.

I'm sorry to say I have not been able to record the other two sections assigned to me as well (weddings take a lot of time to plan) so if you don't mind giving me some time I can get them done this week, but if you'd rather give them away I completely understand.

Thank You!

Michael,
Nice job on the recording! There are a couple of little fixes and then I’ve recommended some post production items; these are optional.

0:37 missing chapter title - Chapter XI, Round the World on a Man-of-War continued, From the Horn to Halifax, Part 2

Please extend ending silence to ~5 seconds. The recording is at ~3 seconds and that has a risk of being cut off during playback.

Optional:
Your overall volume is ok however there are parts which are very difficult to hear without changing the volume. Example ~10:00, ~ 24:00. You might consider a bit of compression and then amplification. If you are using Audacity here is a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-fKYYj6HMZU

The recording could also benefit from some noise cleaning: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NzVxubRO4gI

Hello Linny,

I'm sorry, I've recorded this three times now but my computer is actually falling apart and I can't get it to export and upload the file properly. I'm leaving town now and am going to have to give this one up to someone else. Again I deeply regret abandoning it, but I can't do anymore at this time. Thanks for all making these projects possible.

Sure, we can still wait for a week or two. Could you finish them in next two weeks, please, before January 20?

Hello, Michael.
I am sorry to hear that you have technical difficulties with your computer. :( The fixes required are small and actually there is no need to re-record the whole thing, so I feel doubly sorry that you have to relinquish the chapter. But or course if you feel it that way, that is of course your choice. We will always be glad to see you back in some other project!!!

Chapter 22 is available for readers now.
