no fixes at all, Jim ! I just checked ALL your sections in a row and they were all flawless. The Commune text was especially taxing you on the French names, sorry about that. Wow this must have been an awful period of French history. Wouldn't have wanted to live in Paris at that timeneecheelok70 wrote: ↑January 13th, 2019, 10:22 amI hurried these (leaving for a hotel because of weather), so I apologize if there are some fixes.
Now after this marathon you are well versed in French history (and me too).
So: Sections 38, 39, 41, 42, 53, 61, 89, and 90 are all PL ok.
Thank you so much for this great effort. I hope the ice is not threatening you for too long and that the electricity cables are holding.
Sonia
excellent corrections, thank you so much, Adam, your two sections are now PL ok. I hope I see you in the next book as wellAdamsantoni wrote: ↑January 12th, 2019, 10:23 am Sorry about that, should be all fixed now. And thanks for the feedback! Here are the reuploads:

thank you Lynda, for these two interesting sections. Wow I would have sacked this camarera at the first occasion I guess being Queen in Spain was not a fun thing.
Section 117 is already PL ok but I have a few notes for 110:
> at 4:32: (p. 494): “His blue eyes and fair complexion intimated his Teutonic descent – you say “intimidated” which is a change of meaning
> at 4:49: (p. 494) “of the physiognomies” – I hear physioginomities” – it’s simply pronounced without a ‘g’: physio-nomies”
> at 8:44: (p. 496) “intimating by this preference” – here again, you said “intimidating”
> at 11:33: (p. 497) “assuring him of his intention to do all” – slight stumble before “all” which can easily be cut out
Thanks
Sonia
and last but not least, thank you, Jo for these excellent corrections and the change of file names. Both PL ok now.

Good news! Glad to see that we about to move on. I started to say that I am happy too to get out of all of this war business, but then of course I realized that is never going to happen. As for the ice, it looks as if we escaped the worst; we are doing fine. Thanks. Jim

PS: I may have spoken too soon about moving on.
true...I fear that will be a topic in each of the books in this series. Luckily there are plenty of funny incidents related as well there's always hope.neecheelok70 wrote: ↑January 14th, 2019, 6:41 amI started to say that I am happy too to get out of all of this war business, but then of course I realized that is never going to happen.
I hope you don't have to leave house in this weather

thanks Colleen, an interesting section on Cellini and the poem on Henry of Navarre was really great. This immediately reminded me of his famous quote that we learnt in our French and History lessons at school: "Ralliez-vous à mon panache blanc". This sentence also got mentioned in the text and I was chuffed to see it.
Section 55 is already PL ok.
One PL note for 57:
> at 1:32: (p. 237) stumble and repeat: “For cold and stiff and still are they who wrought they walls annoy” – I loved the little exasperated “ooh” at the end cute blooper - the whole sentence can be cut out once
Thank you !
Sonia

I'm sorry, I wasn't precise enough with the physiognomies correction in my previous post. I still hear "-nomities" at the end although the 'gi' is gone now. But I think this is a minor stumble and people will understand what word is meant anyway, so I think I can mark it PL ok anway. (unless you want to correct it, but it's fine for me)
Thanks !
Sonia
